My new Fall/Winter bag - does it look too much like a work bag?

I haven''t bought a Coach bag in YEARS - ever since they started getting too trendy/funky for me. But there''s a new-ish Coach factory store 20 minutes away, and I found this Addison bag. It''s a lovely shade of ivory - not stark white, not beige, and it has a very subtle pearlized sheen to it. It''s from their full retail stock, not a style made for their factory outlet, so I think the quality is a little better. AND, I got a nice deal on it - 50% off of the markdown price.

But now I''m wondering if it''s too big, or looks like I''m toting a laptop. I like bigger bags, but does this one look like I''m getting ready to take a trip?! I like that this one is more structured rather than slouchy, but gosh, it''s bordering on carry-on size!

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND THE PERFECT BAG??!!

Apparently, I can put a water bottle in here, and the elastic pocket will keep it upright.

I love that bag, I think it''s absolutely fabulous!!

I don''t think it''s too big at all. I have a few Coach bags in that color, and it is fantastic...like you said, not bright white and not beige. It''s a perfect in-between.

I will say that I have a really hard time carrying big bags personally - I end up weighing them down with everything I own and then my back aches! So for me, someone who typically carries a smaller bag, yes, I would feel like that's more of a work bag size.

But if you're typically carrying around a big ol bag, own the look! I don't think it's screaming "laptop and file folders" - it's a very classy style. Nice find!!

Your bag is beautiful with pretty color and nice gold hardware. But, seeing the picture of you carrying it, it seems large for a casual everyday bag. Speaking from experience and always having a hard time finding the "perfect" bag, I think that if you are questioning the size, I don''t think it is the right bag for you.

Totally agree. Love it! It''s big for me (well, pre-baby anyway) but it is a gorgeous bag.

Thanks for chiming in everyone! I still haven''t taken the tags off yet, but I keep pulling it out of the shopping bag and removing all the stuffing to try it on. I must do this at least 3 times/day! Still can''t decide yet. Ugggh.

I think it''s perfect, and not too big at all. I really like it.
I carry huge bags around every day (much bigger than that), whether I''m at work or not, and people always compliment them. My smallest bag is the Fendi Spy bag, and that''s not a small bag!
Your bag is great because it can be used for both formal and casual occasions.

UPDATE: I ended up returning the Coach Addison tote (too big, rolled straps kept falling off shoulder, bleh), but I ended up scoring a Madison Sabrina in the ginger color. I''d been eyeing this one in the Coach boutique, but when I went 2 days ago, I was informed it had been retired and they''d been sent back to the warehouse. I managed to find one at Macys, and because it was the last one, I got an extra 10% off. With all the discounts, it ended up being over 30% off!

Best of all, I got compliments the first time I carried it - within 2hrs, lol!
