Garnet is my birthstone. For the longest time, I thought garnets only came in the dark deep reds of the rhodolite. Since I discovered otherwise, I've been on the lookout for a nice Malaya Garnet.
Last week, I spotted this ring on sale at DB and I bought it on the same day it was listed after numerous emails with the seller who was wonderful and so responsive. She was so quick to ship that I received it that same weekend.
According to the listing, the Malaya Garnet was cut by Gene from PrecisionGem. The stone is 1.29 ct. and measures 6.6 x 6.75 mm. He had graded this stone as a color 5 (highest color grade), Clarity 4. The color in real life is a bit lighter shown in the pictures - it has a peachy, salmon-like color.
The mounting is from jewe2004 from eBay and it was upgraded to 18K.
So......here is the ring. This is the closest to the actual colour that I could capture. It's worn with my teeny diamond eternity band.
