My new Princess cut engagement ring

This is my first time posting pics online of anything. So here goes:

Below is the picture of the engagement ring I just bought and picked up yesterday. Before I found this one I had looked at 10-15 diamonds without really knowing exactly what I was looking at though I did copy down all the #'s. Then I found pricescope and went looking at about 10-15 more and about half of those using a idealscope I ordered through a link here for www.gemappraisers.com. It made a world of difference and the light return on the diamond pictured was by far the best.

Then the first nice day we both have off I'll head to Central Park, NY, the scene of our first date eight months ago to the day, and propose to her.

Thanks to everyone here who helped pointing me in the right direction with my ring selection.

I hope these pictures come out ok, I'm as much of a neophyte with a digital camera as I am at diamonds.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I spoke with her parents on Saturday and it went as well as can be expected. I had an idea of what to say as I was driving over and then stumbled over the words as I expressed my feelings and let them know about my intention to marry their daughter. It worked out well though and they were moved that I showed my respect for them by getting their approval first.

Now I'm waiting for my custom made wooden ring box to be delivered which should be here by the weekend. Then I'll wait until we both have a nice weekend free of commitments and ask her to marry me. At this point it's looking like June 6th. It's a long way away and I'm dying to give her the ring but I'll suck it up and stick to the plan.

I'll keep you all posted.

BTW, you'll all be happy to know that I trimmed my thumbnail.

She said Yes!!!! My fiance and I went out to NYC yesterday to spend a day at the park and relive a little of our first date 9 months ago. It didn't go exactly to my plan but the end result was what mattered most. The details I'll put in the Proposal Idea forum. For now, here are a couple of pics of the ring on her finger.
