I have finally picked my new rings up and got to take some photos. The jeweller said they had a lot of trouble setting the diamond as it was so fat! hahaha I bet they haven't seen many old cuts. 
Now I know a lot of you don't like curved bands, but I really wanted my diamond set as low as possible (for a fat boy), so he curved the band slightly. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but I can always change it later if I decide to.
BTW my ring size is an O here (I think a 7?). The diamond looks smaller on my hands I know but this is still a pretty big stone for my city. The diamond faces up small also due to it's "fatness", I think it is about 6.5mm. I haven't had a full appraisal done yet, but I will for insurance. I actually like the fact that it has such presence from the side, not just the top.
