I’ve been inspired by this Harry Winston ring for ages but my hunt for bigger stones meant that I’ve never had time to make this ring. I’m in need of a rummage ring after Lil Sis has taken off with a few of my smaller rings.

The blue and yellow stones are yellow and royal blue sapphires, pink stones are spinels and white are diamonds. The sapphires are heated (heat only no funny business) but for a rummage ring I have no energy to look for unheated stones.

It is so cheerful and happy ! I can’t decide which flower I like more, but I appreciate how different they are - warm tones and cool tones.
However…This is a rummage ring?
It is quite elaborate , classy and large for rummaging :mrgreen2:

Haha yes she did turn out to be a tad large! I had this idea that 6mm-ish centre stones were ideal. Then I told myself: well the melee needs to be visible so I went with 3mm melee and BOOM before I knew it, it was this size :lol-2:

In my defence I used sapphires, diamonds and spinel. All pretty tough right?

I need to find better scenery to photograph her but I’m so in love with her.

Love it! A proper rummage ring! I swear you’ve created a new category for rings

Bright and cheery just like yourself :) Very pretty!

Cute, thanks for sharing!

my mind is boggling at what rummage means across the ditch
but that is so beautiful

Oh I just love the color play..just gorgeous! I am not sure what you mean by rummage ring!:lol-2:

It's GORGEOUS!! Classy, blingy and super fun, just like your lovely self! It's just fab!

You know my obsession with giant rings? I get nervous when I dig around in my bag with them!

Soooooo……introducing the rummage ring! The cost effective ring (by comparison) made from some reasonably tough stones that you can wear on your rummage hand to rummage in your bags, supermarket freezers (sometimes I go to nice venues all dressed up and then end up digging in a supermarket freezer for durian at the end of the date) and fruit piles!

Voila

The rummage ring

Today she was paired with her fragile sister the Opal

Oh I love her so!!! She’s living up to her duty as a casual rummage ring!

The kid made a dangerous suggestion today. I was out with him for dinner (he thinks this ring is the reasonably good stuff so is not offended anymore that I usually wear lower end jewellery to meals with him) and he suggested that if I were to purchase another blue sapphire and halo it with tsav melee and then white diamonds, the whole thing would look like a peacock.

I told him no. Noooooooo more blue sapphires!!!

That's what I said.
Well, I said I'm on ban island.
Guess what's in the mail.

Once you get hooked by the blue, there's no going back. I bet we'll be seeing that peacock ring sometime in the new year. :P2

I’m firmly on Ban Island! Not even a row boat in tow!

I really really really love my new Opal ring and the kid is prodding me for a white Opal………

Shhh! We do not speak of that! It is nothing. Not until it's safely in my hands and I've personally evaluated it with my own eyes. I took a leap of faith, so it can go anyway and now we're still in the "managing expectations" phase.

You sure kiddo isn't building a row boat as we speak?

@Avondale

*whispers* ok

I’m extra bad when I’m on Ban Island. I like to prod others and get them to buy stuff!

Gengar and Bulbasaur were dreadful purchases in the sense that they’ve given me this feeling of: You know what, you guys are unheated, I’ve done the unheated thing. BRING ON HEAT BABY! Come to Mama affordable heated stones!!!!!!

Gee, wonder where kiddo gets it from! :P2

Yeah, like you're done with the checklist stuff, so now you can afford to go and have a little fun. Or a lot of fun.

I got the heated blue first, then scored the unheated blue, then I realised I literally couldn't care less which is which, and from that point on this dropped down, down, almost to the bottom of the list of priorities. You know, if everything else checks out, why does it matter it's been cooked? It's been cooking in the ground previously anyway.

@Avondale!!!!!! Can I see that ring on your avatar???????? I LIKES a lot!!!!!!

Took me a while to find it:

You want midnight blue? Oooookaaayyy... Allow me to use this opportunity to tell you a little bit about this ring...

The dark stones are two very very dark blue sapphires (you can even see the blue a little if you zoom in on the upper stone). Very low quality, not at all transparent. The white stones are cz. Overall, not a high monetary value ring. But it has a story.

This ring is about as old as I am. When my mother was pregnant, my late grandmother was working as an ophthalmologist in Tunisia, she spent a number of years there. She couldn't be here for my birth so what she did was go out and find the prettiest gold ring she could find as a gift for her newborn granddaughter. She always wanted a daughter herself, but fate only gave her one son. She then proceeded to safekeep the ring for the next 18 years and gifted it to me for my 18th birthday. Talk about a present long time in the making!

The ring is hand forged in 18k gold and is very precious to me (almost to Gollum levels precious). I've even considered having the stones replaced with something of higher value but then I always revert back to thinking I'd rather keep it just as it is because that is how she bought it for me.
