Just picked her up from the jewler this morning and I can't stop looking at it!!!!
WAAAAAY back when I first started the hunt for my pear - I purchased these tanzanites from Chris A. I kept talking myself out of them since they weren't what I was looking for at the time. But Chris convinced me I did indeed need them :Up_to_something: HE WAS RIGHT!!!
I loved them the moment I got them and knew they would be a 3 stone ring. I just had to find a mounting. I thought I wanted a three stone halo but then this vintage (1920's) mounting came up on DB and I knew it would be perfect! The ring needed A LOT of work. My bench person actually said he normally wouldn't do so much work to a ring but that he thought this one was particularly beautiful and special and deserved to have the work done to be brought back to life and worn again.
Center is 6mm sides are 5.5mm. There are a lot of pics I hope you don't mind 8)

It is unbelievable how well matched in both size and colour your tanzanites are. And the setting is just perfect for them too. A huge presence on your hand. I'll bet you are going to get a tonne of compliments. Do be careful with them as tanzanite needs a bit more babying in a ring.

That is a really beautiful, one of a kind piece.

Ha---Jbk...those are great Tanzanites. I bought the 5.5s as a matched pair, and the 6mm stone came along a little bit after that.

If some of you recall--that center stone was the one that ruined my Fathers Day, 2012. Luckily it survived without incident LOL

JBK--I love how it came out. Let us know how much you enjoy the color shifting...those stones go more blue during the day and purple at night!

Even the shift in blues is amazing. Most of the time (so far) they are the rich blue in the pics. When I was getting in my car from the jeweler I looked down and they were almost like an icy blue (we are having blazing sunshine to go with our wind today) In an area with out much direct light they go really really rich purple <LOVE>

I am being careful with it but I am now finding with this ring and my gray tanzanite - I am loving tanzanite and all their moods!

Whoa, very unique!!!! I like it.

well, well, well!!! Here you have a lovely little distraction so you won't be missing the pear setting as much!! That's a really beautiful setting and I love the Tanzanites, jbk!! What a gorgeous ring - incredible presence on your hand and that colour is amazing!!!

Lovely!!!!!

Now, what are you going to do with all those pears that you bought? are there any that you still have??

Thank you pregcurious, Jereni & Enerchi! I am having trouble doing anything today because I can't take my eyes off my hand

I do indeed have some pears left. I may put a couple up on LT. I have an aquamarine that I don't think I'll set and I think I may have a green tourmaline somewhere and an amethyst.
I do have a chrysoberyl and a pink zircon too. Those I may keep and see if I can come up with some setting ideas for them but I haven't decided for sure yet.

The pear adventure was a fun one and I certainly learned a lot (thanks to all of you!). I'm so glad its finally found a happy place to live!

Preloved stones in a Preloved setting (saved from a meltdown) is my favourite kind of project! Looks great, keep enjoying it! :appl: :appl:

Thank you NKOTB - I agree!! It doesn't always work out - but when it does it makes it that much more fun!!! :appl:

First off, the blue saturation looks good in every light, so big congratulations!

But secondly, I think its amazing that you found second hand stones and then found a second hand setting that worked! Talk about karma - it just seems like you have good karmic connections coming out of your ears!

Can I rub your head for good luck?  :praise:

Very beautiful!!

The perfect gorgeous stones for a stunning setting!

Wow! That is stunning!!! I love the setting and the stones are a great color. Congrats!!!

I love vintage and your gems make the ring look so fresh. Beautiful!

What a great ring! Do you mind sharing your ring size? The coverage is perfect!

Wowee! I saw and admired that setting on Preloved and it really looks PERFECT with your stunning tanzanites! Couldn't be a better match!

Wow, I love the color of the tanzanites and the setting is perfect for them.

Minou - you're sweet, thank you! I'm sure we live far from each other so you'll just have to rub my avatar

Thank you txgreeneyes, vickygigi, LisaRN, Laila619 & Catmom!

I didn't realize how much I would love vintage but I do! Plus I love the idea of getting to put my own spin on it to make it "mine" so to speak.
From the moment I got the tanzis I loovvved the color and knew I wanted "white" around to stones to really set them off and was originally looking for diamond mountings. I like this one WAY more :loopy:

Rosebloom, I had to put the ring on my left hand to take pics (size 6) but the ring is actually a 7 so I will wear it as a RHR. My bench person did not want to risk stress on the gallery by sizing to a 6 so I went up a touch.

Back for another look! I am curious about the setting. You said it was vintage 1920. Would that make it considered art deco? Just when I think I have a good idea of what art deco is, something else pops up and confuses me.

ummmmm - I dunno   I know the ring is from the 1920's because some of the original engraving is still inside - otherwise I'd have NO clue :? Though I'm curious to know what the experts say....
