Last November my mom gave me my grandmother''s wedding set from 1941 as my grandma hasn''t worn it since my grandpa died in the ''70s. I used two of the little diamonds on the e-ring as part of my e-ring (they''re mounted on the inside of the band so only I know they''re there). My mom is planning to make herself a new e-ring out of the big stone. And I''ve recently started wearing the wedding band as a pretty RHR. The band fits me perfectly (size 5.5) and is very thin and delicate.

Just thought I''d share!

it''s lovely!! Can''t wait to see what your mom does to the center stone

Thanks! She''s thinking about a bezel or half-bezel maybe. She doesn''t like her original e-ring because it sits up too high and snags on everything (plus the diamond is tiny

). There are also some cool antique settings that she likes. I''m super excited to help her out with the project and use my PS knowledge!

How sweet! I love your story. What a beautiful set.

Lovely!!

What a great story! Got some hand shots to share?

Very pretty set! Could we see some hand shots of the w-band on you? Does your mother have design ideas for the centre stone yet?

It fits you perfectly - it was meant to be!

Lovely rings! How special that you and your mom have something of your grandmother''s.

Very pretty!! And what a sweet story!

Beautiful set!

Such a beautiful set.

Very pretty set.

How wonderful that you and your Mom have her set and you both are using the stones. The rings are beautiful!

Thanks for sharing your story. Such great ideas. Pics please.

Thanks for all of your kind responses! By popular demand, here''s a handshot with the wedding ring.

Here''s another shot of the ering. The jeweler steamed it, but didn''t polish up the metal. I kind of like the grey platinum, but I had the wedding ring polished and it makes the diamonds sooo much brighter!

I don''t know much about this ring or the stone, other than it''s a little less than a carat. The sidestones on the e-ring and w-ring are pretty unmatched and are a mix of single cuts and brilliant. But it all looks sparkly to me!

I can''t take any handshots since my mom took the e-ring back to think about what she wants to do with it, but I will definitely post pictures when she sets it into a new ring. She''s currently thinking of a bezel or half-bezel, or maybe something antiquey. As long as it''s low profile and easy to wear every day (unlike her original e-ring).

One more shot; this time of the profile!
