My new True Antique cut cushion from Leon Mege arrived!

My new ering arrived today!! Leon was great to work with and was patient with all my questions.

It's a newly cut old mine cut True Antique cushion from Leon Mege in his Princesa solitaire.

I must say, after viewing PS rings on my iPad at a three inch view/size, AND then "downsizing" mentally from a 12mm wide halo setting to a 8.5mm solitaire, I was a little disappointed at how small the ring looked in its box. But then I put it on my hand and those thoughts went away pronto!! I love it

Even after watching all the GOG videos about how the facets reflect light differently, I was not prepared and did not truly understand just how pretty the large facets are. I'm not sure I can ever go back to a modern round brilliant anymore.

Indoors - I sound like a broken record but the I color faces up white nicely. When I put it next to my friend's F color though, then I saw the slight vanilla color.

I'm not sure why these are sideways...?

Wow look at that yummy high crown! I have an AVC, so I know what you mean about the big facets - kinda ruins rb's for me a bit too. It is beautiful - gorgeous prong work (as usual) - enjoy it, and please post more pics!

Hate to sound like a broken record here...BUT that crown is way over the top...wonder what percentage the crown is...wish GIA would include that in their reports....and the double claw prongs are perfection. Thanks for posting so I could get my bling fix! Bet you can't quit staring at it. So amazingly beautiful that antique faceting.

If we hadn't found my antique ring yours is exactly what I would have wanted made.

I love the chunky old cut facets too. Such a different sparkle to the modern machine cuts but I love the big flashes of fire.

My diamond is a proper high crown too - I love that it really looks like a cushion.

It's still with the dealer being resized but I think these pics show what I mean. (Only hand pic I have in rubbish lighting I'm afraid)

Did you pick the diamond separately for LM to set or did they do it all?

Boo - I found the diamond on LM's site first and wanted to buy it loose but he only sells them set. The diamond took most of my budget so I got the least expensive setting he had - for the time being

Leon sets (most) outside stones too - there are a few he won't set but I'm not sure from whom.

Ariel - I agree in that I wish GIA listed more details on the stones angles and measurements. I like knowing all those stats. I loooove looking into the table. The stone is so sharp and clear - I can't stop,staring!
