Soo, my original ring from my husband is a really cool extremely included black diamond. Unfortunately, coming up on 10 years, my "galaxy diamond" started showing signs it was not as up for daily wear as it once was (a pitfall of loving gems with inclusions). Since the pandemic, I hadn't even been wearing it daily, but alternated with colored stone rings. So, after talking it over, my husband agreed it was time for me to find a new daily ring.

At first, I considered a yellow sapphire. But after Tucson Gem Show, I started to reconsider because I was enamored by the glittery effect of diamonds I saw. I looked into a couple white diamond rings, but had no luck. Once I saw someone else's yellow diamond, I made up my mind I wanted a colored diamond.

I looked at a number of online retailers and went to look at things in person too. It was sort of discouraging because things were either way out of my price range, took too much effort to get more details, had no or sketchy return policies (eh, Instagram), or what I wanted "isn't really something we have in stock." IDK why I didn't start my search by asking here, but I did eventually look through the forums and found my way to Diamonds by Lauren.

I mean, everyone here has had only positive things to say about DBL in the past, so I really couldn't say much more. My experience was great. I was able to find good pictures, clear descriptions (with honest, subjective evaluation & objective data reports), videos, and amazing responsive customer service.

Above all, I was able to find my new ring. I didn't have to compromise on anything- color, cut, ring design, etc. It is perfect. At first, I was looking at all yellows, but decided on a more pastel one because I have my CS collection already, and wanted more subtle color. I decided on this 1.2 carat Y-Z yellow natural diamond in a halo of white diamonds in platinum. The ring was one someone else had traded in for a trade-up, and although it's in that "new to me" category it's the first modern piece & one I haven't had to refurbish or set myself. It is very special to me!

If anyone is considering Diamonds by Lauren, I've got to say go for it. Their jewelry and diamonds are spectacular and I was treated so well through the whole process.

Now for my own pictures which do zero justice.

Beautiful! I saw that ring on the site and thought someone was going to get a great deal!!

I already have my E ring from David which I love but I will say, had your ring been available when I was choosing I would have tried to convince my fiancé to buy it even though it was over budget.

Thanks for posting the pictures, I love seeing real life photos to compare color. Congrats

It's gorgeous!!! Love that sunny yellow with the white diamonds, just beautiful. Congratulations and enjoy every minute of wearing this beauty!!

I watched that one for a while and was sad when it sold! What a great deal. It looks even better on your hand than it did in his pics.

Thanks for the kind responses, everyone. I do feel it was a great deal, and it is really beautiful in real life. I'm so distracted looking down through the day.

@SandraLynn I think I'll forgo one for now. But, if I could ever find one ~2mm and the right color, I've always wanted a dainty jade band.

My big struggle is keeping it pretty & sparkling with my local hard, minerally water. If I am not a nut about getting all water droplets removed before they evaporate onto it when I wash my hands, makes me crazy.

I feel you on that, I lived in South East Georgia for over a decade and the water is terrible. I now live in North Florida but our house has a great water softening system. I soak my rings in warm water then use a soft brush to clean them. Fancy colored diamonds get dull real fast if you don’t keep them clean.

Oh man, yeah. I lived in Valdosta for a little many years ago. That aquifer water was so gross. I'm in the desert now and water is full of minerals. Aside from gems, my hair is not a fan. Does the water softener help?

Yes!! I will put it this way, when I was living in my apartment (no water softener) my hair was always dry and poofy no matter what shampoo I used. I’m Sicilian so you can imagine. Now I can wear my hear down or in a pony tail no problem. I actually feel that my hair is growing better now. Also no need to keep buying bottled water, we have an extra water spigot in the kitchen and it’s ultra purified. Taste better than bottled to me.

It’s really pretty :kiss2:
