My own small work vent.............

So I'm supposed to leave work today at 2pm for my wedding (thats Sat!) and then honeymoon. I do billing and invoicing and had about ten left to do today before I could go. When I come back I'm going to be in a customer service position, so will not be coming back to this same job, but it is the same company.

So my supervisor gave those 10 invoices over to the person taking over my position so she can learn on them. I was just going to do them to get them done, and she would learn on the next round, but thats not how my supervisor wanted to do it. Well she gave them to her yesterday after I had left.

So............. I come in today and she (the person taking over my job)immediately started screaming at me (in the office!) about how I f***** should finish my work before I leave for two weeks, and just because I'm getting married it shouldn't be dumped on her. She just went OFF - full voice, very loud. I was so embarrassed!
I dont think she realized that SHE is now going to be doing my work, not just while I'm gone, and that I didn't choose for her to have the rest now..... the president of the company made her apologize.

URG! I can't believe people. I didn't even know the work was given to her, I JUST WALKED IN THE DOOR! So I was completely blind-sided..... fun, right?

I''m sorry. People can be so obtuse sometimes. I bet she feels like an idiot now. She made a huge sceen and the president of the company found out... that kind of stuff will stick with you in a company.

Really though, who behaves like that at work? Anyone in my office would likely be looking for a new job or on disciplinary probation if they had an outburst like that. I''m glad the president of your company made her apologize to you, but she should be doing so much more.

Sorry that happen to you, rhb. But at least the president of the company stepped out for you.

At my previous work place, my controller used to yell at me on a daily basis. Everyday I don''t want to wake up to go to work. My FI (then boyfriend) was very worry about me. Noone in the company does anything about it. One day I filed a complaint with a ltr to the owner of the company but they did nothing. Then, right after I got my greencard, which took 5 yrs, I submit my resignation. The day before my last day, I left early for a doctor appt. I have told my controller about this but he still yell at me and this time the president of the company called us both and asked whats wrong. My controller didn''t apologize to me but he apologize to the president. By the way, I am the controller''s assistant, more slave than assistant, IMO. Thats why I quit that stupid job. He is not young at all, he is 55 yrs old. He stole lots of my ideas and claim that it is his idea. But when the owner asked certain financial/accounting related thing, he couldn''t answer or if he does, noone can understand him.

Interesting thing is that when I submit my resignation ltr. The owner told me that he realized that I am smarter than my own controller. In fact, they want to demote him and make me the controller. I smile to that and said thanks but no thanks.

Now I am working for a better company. Everyone is very professional. It has been wonderful so far.

I can so relate to what happen to you. I am glad she apologized. Someone needs to teach that girl some manner. She is only 19 so its not too late to learn. Otherwise, she will stay close to the bottom with that kind of attitude.

Thanks, I completely understand and I''m glad you found something better. I need something better. Unfortunately she is the daughter of one onf the managers so she gets away with murder... not following dress code, taking longer breaks so on. Oh well.

However, my parents believed wedding has a habit of presenting good fortune to the new couple, so I am sure you will def find something better for you to start a new chapter of your life. Good wishes from FI and I to you and your future family.
