I just thought I would share my new ring. Its a 2.98 RB G vs2 and unfortunately I don''t know the other specs. My ring size is a 5.75, but everyone that has seen it asks me if my ring is a 2 carat so I am wondering if it looks small or if my fingers are just a little chubby. Please tell me what you think.

Thank you!

Oh my goodness! It definitely looks like the 3 ct. stone that it is!!! Just gorgeous! Most people are clueless when it comes to larger diamond size. Mine is 1.6 and I get asked if it is 2 carats! So just don''t worry about it...the stone looks huge, like it is!

it looks HUGE!!! and it''s gorgeous.

No, you don''t have chubby fingers at all! It is a beautiful stone and I''m sure people are staying that because 2 carats outside of pricescope for most people is huge! It looks beautiful...enjoy!

Thank you so much, I was getting a bit paranoid. All of you have such gorgeous rings and are so kind, I just got engaged last week and people are already asking me when my wedding is, yikes.

Thanks again!

I will try to take better pics and post, the casio digital camera that I have has a not so great macro setting.

It''s classic! Do you have any details about your setting? Any profile shots?

It''s huge and gorgeous!!

Here is a profile shot, or at least what I think is a profile shot of the ring taken with my blackberry (apologies for the blurryness). The setting is a platinum 6-prong very thin band probably a little over 2mm? I am thinking about changing it for something pave, but don''t know if it will take away from the stone. Decisions, decisions...

Your ring is HUGE and GORGEOUS! It definitely looks all of its size, that is for sure! Congratulations!

A lovely monster of a rock. Looks great on your finger, not chubby at all.

Niiiiice!! I think it looks huge!! Im betting that some people just don''t know anything about diamond size and just grab numbers out of thin air... don''t take it personal.. you have lovely fingers and the finger coverage is..

I actually have a question about how the diamond sits in the basket. the diamond is held by the prongs and doesn''t sit in the basket, just wondering if that is normal or if I should have it lowered? TIA!

Gorgeous, huge and perfect - it totally looks like a 3 ct!

Yep, the diamond should be held by the prongs, and you don''t want the culet (the bottom tip of the diamond) to actually touch the basket.

What a big, beautiful solitaire! Diamonds like that don''t need extra window dressing, IMHO.

Your diamond is gorgeous and huge!!! And your fingers are definitely not chubby!!! It looks perfect on you!

Congratulations!!!

HI:

Your ring is devine. And try not to worry about what folks say about "size"--some gal exclaimed to me her BFF''s ring was just like mine--a 2 carat RB (mine is a 5 c. radiant....)... Enjoy!

cheers--Sharon

It's gorgeous! And don't fret... It looks huge!!

Your ring is beautiful and HUGE!! Congrats on your engagement! Like the others said, 2 ct is like the magic big ring number for non-psers. Take it as a compliment!

Your ring is perfect! I would not change a thing if I were you, its classic and you don''t have to worry about little pave stones falling out all the time.

Maybe your friends have never seen such a beautiful large stone! Its lovely!

I agree! Just get a pretty diamond wedding band to wear with it! (Not that I am biased or anything.

Gorgeous!

It''s gorgeous and definitely looks like 3 carats to me. Most people have no idea what three carats would look like. They probably figure two carats is huge- which by most standards it is-- and see that yours is huge and assume it must be two. Sounds weird but I really think that happens, as most people are really clueless about diamonds.

Personally I would leave a stunning rock like that in the simple setting, as I don''t feel it needs anything extra, but that''s really only your call. Anyhow, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thank you everyone for all your kind words!!! Everyone here is so super nice and supportive!

Your diamond looks HUGE. MOst people have NO IDEA of true diamond size. Enjoy your bling!

What a gorgeous ring!! It is massive!!

Don''t worry about people like that - I''ve had people ask if my ring is 1 carat (it''s 2). I have to think that most people outside PS have no clue about diamond sizes/shapes/etc.

Anytime you are feeling down about what someone says, come here and we will definitely give you positive reinforcement

it''s stunning, and huge! I love it! It definitely looks 3 carats!

Don''t worry, I think people just don''t know about diamonds/sizes. I have a 1.19 RB, and say all the time "that must be at least 2 carats" haha (my fingers size is 4.5 though)

CONGRATS!!!

I am so sorry that you''re getting paranoid about the size of your stone. The truth is most people have not seen diamonds bigger than 2 carats so they assume that your ROCK must be a 2 carat. Do not worry. Your stone absolutely looks 3 carats on your finger! WOWZA! Hahahha! Wear it EVERYDAY!

Have you thought about wedding bands yet?
