Well...you got me to look! I will certainly look at any red spinel ring of yours, Miss Harriet!!! You have even got me thinking I could get used to a larger solitaire and I never thought anyone ever would! But seeing your icon again and again has made the look of a perfect stone of that size grow on me....What are the specs again?

I can't believe that my post was perceived as insulting or rude: I was joking! It was not in any way meant as sarcasm.

I try to be very sensitive about people's feelings here on the forum, and in fact try really hard to be positive and supportive. Whenever I feel myself drawn to post to any negativity, I don't because I am so aware that things in writing don't always come off the way they were intended.

But I can only guess by your response that my sense of humour is not translating very well.

You are right: you were the VERY FIRST ONE to help me with my sapphire ring search and Khordipour, and I've always held you in esteem for your supportive posts to us newbies.

I am so surprised and sorry that you feel this way, as I truly had NO IDEA that I had hurt your feelings.

I was trying to enjoy your joy!

I do and it is. The problem is that the spinel with which I fell in love is not the spinel I now have in my ring. It is a long and very boring story. The spinel I have is very pretty and is red enough, but it is not the traffic light red spinel I originally bought. It is not the stone that swept me off my feet. It will always be second best. No one who looks at the ring knows it but me, but I know it. Some day I will take a photo of the current stone. It looks pinkish to me. The sidestones are great, though. They are well cut, good clarity, D color diamonds!
