My sapphire ring is done! I'd been thinking of having it set in rose gold, white gold, or sterling silver and decided I liked the whiteness of sterling silver the best (plus it was the most cost effective route.) I originally considered having my sapphire set by Sally at Heart of Water Jewels, but decided to go with Daniel M since the wait time was shorter and I liked their u-prong setting.

The specs are 2.99cts, 9mm, from Umba, Tanzania, sold to me as unheated and cut by this seller on Etsy:

Here are a couple of threads with more photos of the stone before it was set:

I plan to wear this ring on my right hand, but photos are of it on my left hand since I needed to hold the camera with my right! Daniel M did a fantastic job setting my stone. I think turnaround time was just about a month. Lots of pics to come!

More photos! I took one of the sapphire in incandescent lighting, one in low sunlight, one of the side view, and another of the underside of the ring.

It's beautiful! WOW. I literally said WOW when I saw the pictures!

Thanks! :D I took quite a few photos and am trying to resist posting too many! It sparkles like a little fireball of light. Here's one that shows a bit of close up of the stone.

Thanks TL! Also, I read your thread in regards to testing for additional heat treatment through AGL. I'm still considering sending it to them one of these days. For now, I think I'll just wear it as it is since I'm in love with the stone.

Okay, one last photo... (There's another one in the Daniel M pieces thread.)

Glad you saw that, and I think you should send it, as it could be helpful for insuring it, and for that peace of mind. Regardless, it is still a very beautiful piece.

I absolutely adore that setting, NOTHING interferes with that sparkling fireball !
I LOVE that last picture, how amazing that sapphire is!!!!!

Wow, it is gorgeous! The sapphire looks like a huge blue diamond!

What a beautiful stone. I am very partial to light blue sapphires. You did a beautiful job, and thank you for sharing.

Your ring is gorgeous! Congratulations.

I love the color of that stone! And the setting shows it off beautifully. What a graceful setting. I am so impressed with Daniel M's work. Congratulations -- it's gorgeous!!!!

It is a very pretty color and an excellent cut. I have a stone of a similar color, and I can imagine how it looks in real life. The setting is nice, and overall it looks bright an happy. Congratulations.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's commented so far! I'm not sure if you can tell by the photos, but the sapphire changes color a bit. It's more lavender in incandescent lighting and more blue in natural sunlight. Sometimes it looks a bit greyish in low lighting, and there is a bit of pink in the center. I might get it reset in a gold setting in the future, but for now I think the silver compliments it fairly well. :cheeky:

Another beautiful daniel m solitaire masterpiece!. Your stone is really lovely, too. So firey! I really love the color. Sorry if I missed something, but where did it come from and what's the size/mm?

Wow!!!! Your sapphire is amazing!!! Sooooo brilliant! Very Stunning!!!

for some reason, it's not letting me edit my post, but yeah, I see the very obvious stating of specs and sellers. Whoops! :)

Love your new ring, and lots of dispersion from the stone. Simple lines and elegant.

OMG...that stone is amazing! I want!

Very pretty! I really like the color and the setting is perfect!

Gorgeous ring. I love the proportions of the prongs on the stone, and the pic in incandescent light.

Exquisite  Congrats on ur new ring!

Whoa, Xiriah! That's a gorgeous ring! :appl: I love the unique color of the sapphire--very unusual and very cool!
