my set . . . and my foot

I decided to take some pictures of my "set" -- my e-ring, wedding band, earrings, and pendant. I wanted to be able to see their size relative to each other. Unfortunately, I had a hard time holding my hand steady and taking a picture so I had to use my foot.

e-ring: 1.14 G-H VS2 heirloom diamond in Vatche x-prong
band: 0.35ctw H-I SI1-SI2
studs: 0.72ctw K SI1-SI2 (HCA 1.7 and 2.0)
pendant: 0.52 K SI2 (HCA 1.3)

OK, here''s the only hand pic where it wasn''t blurry. I like how you can see my reflection in the background. This was taken in our guest bedroom.

It was my grandmother''s -- not her original diamond (they eloped, and then she got about a half carat e-ring in the first few years of marriage, this is from a dinner ring).

The polish I can''t remember. My sister and I got pedicures about three weeks ago (she wanted to enjoy looking at her toes during labor). I''m going to get another one at the beach in a week.

I know . . . I feel that way too. That''s why I got YG and DH got platinum for our wedding bands. He wanted/liked platinum, and the same for me with YG. Maybe it''s because I never saw platinum jewelry growing up in NJ. Yes, my grandmother had a platinum engagement ring in the ''20''s and a platinum dinner ring from the 60''s, but to me a wedding band was always plain yellow gold . . . I''m not sure she was even wearing platinum jewelry when I knew her. At our wedding the minister said something about how our bands of "precious gold" joined us together, and DH was like, "Ahem, mine''s not gold."

Even after being a PS junkie for years and seeing multitudes of beautiful platinum pieces, I am still not swayed!

It''s amazing what a pedicure can do! I''ve never loved my feet, especially the way my 4th toe curves, but with the pedicure I''ve felt like they''re much cuter.

Cute photos Phoenix!!! Your toes are adorable! I love all your YG pieces...I''m much more into white metals now but when I met DH 6 years ago I was wearing all YG (i was 24!) and when he started talking about e-rings and mentioned platinum I was flabbergasted. I just always assumed that platinum was for "old folks,'' isn''t that funny? Just goes to show how different mindsets can be when it comes to people''s perspective of "traditional." Anyway, I let him suprise me with my ering and ended up with plat, which I love, but I still have a ton of YG pieces that I still love and will keep forever.
