Does anyone else have this problem?

Whenever I wear dressy shoes that don''t have a strap around the ankle, my heel ALWAYS slips out. I really don''t want to have to wear shoes for my wedding that have a strap.

Is the shoe too big? Or are my heels too narrow? Is there a product that can keep your heel in the right position?

Thanks!

I don''t have an answer, but I can sympathize. To this day, I have never ever owned pumps because I literally walk right out of them.

But I also wear a sz 4.5, so that might be the problem

There is something out there for that...I don''t know what it''s called though. Likely to be found with foot petals and such in the drugstore. But you stick it in the heel so it takes up room back there and your skin sticks to it so the heel doesn''t pop out!

i walk on the sides of my feet, as in standing like the pic below is completely comfortable to me (yes i know horrible for my ankles, my mother still yells at me for it to this day) so unless i''m really thinking about it, i''ll roll out of shoes that aren''t strapped to me. for me all i have to do is think about walking more on the inside edge of my foot and it evens out, something i''ve been working hard on lately. hope that helps some

sunnyd is right, there are shoe pads that you stick in the back of the shoe that are supposed to cushion your heel. They also make the shoe ''smaller'' by shortening the amount of space between your heel and the back of the shoe. I use them quite often. Check out DSW, they should for sure be able to help you!

There are a few versions of this cushiony thing you could use for your shoes. I think they''re called heel catchers and those are the ones you place on the back of the shoes to help catch your heels, hence the name. And another that is placed to cushion the ball of your feet so in the inside almost middle of your shoes. The second version helps your feet from sliding forward. See if you could go to a cobbler and they''ll be able to take care of that for you! I use either one for mine! Good luck!

Heel grips or inserts. I believe Dr. Scholls (?) has some now, so you can get them at walgreens or Target, or whatever. They work wonders.

Yup...they''re fabulous. My heels slip out ALL THE TIME in any shoe I wear unless I shove a ton of insoles and heel cushions in them. They make the shoes way more comfy too!

I could be that your slipping forward in the shoes too. If you want to try a couple insert options I suggest the VonMaur shoe dept cause they let you try on a bunch of different sample inserts they have esp. for high heels. Since they''re all designed to be removable you can even take your special shoes in and slip the different options in to see if they''re still comfy/if they solve the problem.

I just purchased sole cushions and heel cushions from Apara. I found them in Famous Footwear. First time I tried them. The soles are working fabulously! The only minor problem is that since they are stick on, the edges of the heel is starting to come up. But I only plan on using them for something important one or two more times. They are cheap too!

Thanks guys!

I knew there had to be something, but I wasn''t sure what to Google.

I would suggest pads in the ball of your shoe and in the heel.

That way, the ones in the ball keep your feet from slipping forward, and causing your heel to move farther away from the shoe. Does that make any sense? LOL I usually have both in my dressy shoes and it really help!

I have really narrow heels (narrow feet in general), and I find that the pads under the ball of the foot work better (for me) than anything on the heel part of the shoe. They kind of push your foot back into the shoe and make it fit more securely. Yup.

Another alternative, if they are slingbacks, is that you can get the strap that goes across your ankle shortened. I always have to do that, and any skilled cobbler will do it for just a couple bucks.
