My sister and I went shopping for her matron of honor dress today. After hours of searching Macy''s and other places, we ended up getting her dress at the same shop I got my dress at. It''s an Alfred Angelo chiffon and satin (I think) dress with very little detail on it. My sister tried it on in black but ordered it in indigo. I would have preferred a mossy green, actually, but she hates green and I want her to be happy. She said she''ll wear whatever I wanted her to wear but seeing as how she never wears dresses, I wanted her to feel great and look great. The indigo looked really good but my hesitation is about whether it coordinates with my dress. What do you think?

Here are the two dresses together. What''s the verdict? I should mention that we don''t really have a color scheme, so we were open to many colors to choose from. If they look great together, please tell me, and if not, I''d like honesty. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that although the dress did come in lighter colors, any pale color (such as one that would have coordinated nicely with the champagne sash on my dress) made my sister look sickly. Too pale on her already pale Irish skin.

The colours look great together, Zoe! I wonder if you're thinking 'mossy green' because the picture was taken against a mossy green fabric background, but indigo and pink is a lovely combination. I think it will look gorgeous.

And you're right that a happy sister is an important ingredient of a happy wedding!

I took my sis dress shopping when I was visiting her last week, but the only thing we found that was GREAT was WAY over budget. An Elie Tahari pink chiffon dress with a lovely tie at the shoulder. Part of me is thinking I should just call them and order it for her anyway.

I'm buying cause sis is still in college. But this would mean her dress for my wedding actually cost more than MINE! Haha.

I think they look really nice together! I agree with indy that maybe you''re thinking they don''t go because of the background of the pic.

Thanks ladies! Yeah, maybe you''re right. I actually tried to erase the curtain behind my dress in ''paint'' but I couldn''t do it.

How''s this:

Thank you, thank you Robbie!! That looks great. I definitely feel much better about them together now. I guess it was the curtain that was distracting me. I really appreciate your help.

You''re welcome!
