On Wednesday, I stopped by DSW to look for wedding shoes. Wasn''t necessarily planning on buying anything, but I thought I''d just look around to get an idea of the selection and price ranges.

I wandered over to the clearance section, and found these lovelies:

Now, they''re a little higher than I wanted, but they are really comfortable! The only problem is that my dress was made to fit me in a 2 inch heel. However, I think that perhaps if I wear a less-poofy crinoline these will work (they''re a 3 inch heel).
Best of all, they were only $15! I hadn''t been planning on spending very much for shoes, since they won''t be visible under my dress, but I kind of wanted them to be cute and satin.

Anyways, I''m really excited and I just wanted to share with y''all!

Beautiful shoes & what a fun way to incorporate something blue into your outfit. Even better that they''re comfie & you can wear them again! (and that they only cost $15!)

I LOVE THEM! What a great idea. I was at DSW and got a pair of white satin nina''s. I also feel SO stupid paying anything for shoes I will never wear again but I am planning on dying them black after the wedding. I guess my something blue is the sapphires in my e-ring. $15! I am so jealous!

They are really cute, and very different.
Good for you!
You are not going to give us foot pics?

Fabulous! Don''tcha just love DSW? My downfall. I love the idea of the blue shoes - my fave color is red, so I wore red strappy shoes under my wedding dress.

Those are so cute. I love the idea of colored shoes. I wore gold shoes that I still wear now.

OMG Saturn, I love your shoes!!!! They are gorgeous. My mom got married in 1969 and her wedding dress was almost the same color as those shoes, lol! It was a silk shantung sheath (think Jackie O. with a really pretty thick kind of lace around the hem--she was hot, ha ha!). Your shoes totally reminded me of her dress, they are unique and I bet you will get a ton of compliments on them at your wedding! Good job!

Those are GORGEOUS.. thats my favorite shade of blue!

LOVE them!! Can we get a foot shot??

Wow, great buy!! Very cute!

Way to go! A deal on shoes, blue to boot! My soon to be DIL is going to wear baby blue shoes under her wedding dress and I say "go for it"! It''s her way of making this wedding day all her own and I think its great! If I was getting married, I would probably do that too...or some other color I love like fire engine red!

Mine will be RED! I still have to find a "something blue". My MOH mentioned blue panties.

Hee hee! Aphi, if I didn''t end up with blue shoes I was totally going to get some blue panties!

I just like the idea of my "Something old/new/borrowed/blue" being actual stuff I need, not just some extra blue ribbon pinned to my bra or something. My mom wants to give me her old garter (from her wedding) to be my something old, but we''re not doing a garter toss, and that idea skeeves me out somehow. I''m kind of hoping that my grandma or FMIL will come through with some jewelry for me to borrow.

Since my intended shoes are discontinued.....

I think you''ve convinced me to go blue, too!

My dress is champagne/ecru with stark white accents. Heavy, heavy embroidered crochet like lattice detail on the bottom 4" of dress + short train.

Does anyone else have a problem with slingbacks staying on their feet?? I love the way they look, but man it's a struggle for me to keep them on!! My mom says it's because I don't have any meat on my feet. She jokes around and says that chickens have more meat on their feet than her and I do!

I do!!! I have several slingbacks and the back straps just flop around back there... when I walk sounds like I''m wearing flip flops. I have plenty of meat on my feet, but my problem is that I don''t have a very pronounced indentation at the back of my ankle, that little part right above the heel just kinda goes straight up into my calf so I can''t seem to hang on to my shoes!! It also makes scuba diving a pain because the back strap of my flippers sometimes just slide right off the back of my heel. sucks!!

Uh oh! There''s another problem coming for me. I plan on getting PADI certified in the next year for our trip to Belize on our one year anniversary (our "BIG" honeymoon, since we couldn''t afford one right away)!

Saturn, I love these shoes. They look ''Tiffany'' blue.

Ooooooooooooooooh!

Starset, those are really cute too!

One feature I really wanted in my shoes was some sort of strap to hold them on, specifically to combat the slingback problem you guys were mentioning. I don''t generally have a problem with slingbacks, but when I''m wearing a long dress I have a problem with the skirt getting caught between my heel and the shoe! Hopefully the ankle straps will help with that.

Thanks for all the compliments!

haha, I thought it was just me! But I totally can''t do them... oh well, they''re so cute though!

And saturn- those shoes are adorable! Non-white wedding shoes sounds really fun.. hmm, ideas!

Saturn, those are so cute! They''re also re-wearable, which is what I''m looking for too. I''m thinking either blue or silver...something that doesn''t scream "wedding shoe"!
