I have a small obsession with stacking different antique rings and I haven't posted any of them to SMTB, so here they all are. Hopefully some of the descriptions can help anyone who is thinking of purchasing anything similar.
First shot is the family shot! The engagement ring is a 2.25 L/VS2 transitional diamond in the original platinum fishtail mount. All of the other rings are a mixture of platinum, white gold and yellow gold.
First is the plain bands. The top is a Tiffany & Co. platinum band with an inscription dated September 1, 1920. The middle band is a J.R. Woods (Art Carved) white gold over yellow gold also dating back to 1920 and the bottom is platinum with the inscription dated 1934.
These are my vintage rounds. The top is a 1/2 eternity with mine cuts in platinum over yellow gold. The middle is platinum with .30 of the tiniest most adorable mine cuts. The bottom is platinum with 1.2 carats of european cuts.
For color, vintage ruby and sapphire bands, both in white gold.
Carre cuts! The top is in 18k yellow gold, and the color is so rich and yummy. It's a half eternity and little more than 1/2 a carat. The bottom is the my real show-stopper, its 2.5 carats of old carre cuts and each of them is cut slightly differently and has a large culet. I have more pictures if interested.
Last but not least, french cuts! The top band is a small band of a 1/2 carat. You can see the frenchies more in real life than in the pictures, but it's more of a subtle glimmer that pairs well when stacked than a knockout punch. The middle is approximately 1.5 carats. The bottom is 2+ carats and likely is older than the middle band since all the french cuts have larger culets than the middle band.
