Thanks to the folks over on the RT forum and the info here on PS, back in May I upgraded my 1.01 ct I, SI1, Med. FL (rather poorly cut) e-ring with a 1.85 ct G, VVS2, Faint FL stunner that far out-performs my original e-ring (though I love it dearly and will be keeping it for a pendant or stud earring project in the future). I am thrilled with my upgrade and seem to love it more and more every day! I don't believe I ever did a reveal here on SMTB, so here it is…better late than never. :D

I also purchased two matching bands with plans to sandwich the e-ring between them for my every-day look (see 1st photo). But I think my original wedding band has some potential to be included in the stack for more flashy occasions (see 2nd and 3rd photo) or paired with my two new bands for "band only" look (see 4th photo).

I am also considering a 5, 7 or 11 stone band to add to my options, but need to take some time to find the perfect one that is low-set enough for my e-ring and doesn’t compete with it. My original setting did not allow for stacking, so I am looking forward to all the options that my new solitaire opens up. I’d love to hear your feedback and/or suggestions for other bands to stack with my new e-ring.

1st photo is my “every-day” look. I wanted bands that didn’t detract from my e-ring. I also like that they are small and discrete enough to act as spacers with larger bands, but the diamonds are so tiny (though they sparkle pretty well in the right lighting) I wonder if I lose the bling affect. Thoughts?

2nd photo is Stack Option A and 3rd photo is Stack Option B. Any preference over A or B? Or ditch my original band in the stack all together and find some more new bling?

Looking forward to your opinions! Thanks!

Congratulations on your upgrade, it looks beautiful on your finger!
Stack on! :P2

Option B . Congrats on the gorgeous upgrade!

In the first pic, your everyday wear, I think it has just the right amount of bling. It looks great!

As for option A or B, I think I’m going to go with A. In A they all seem to work together as one unit, which I’m liking. In option B the bands work as one ring and then the e-ring is separate, but still looks pretty and is a good option.

I like both ring stack options and love your very gorgeous upgrade!

Beautiful upgrade! Personally, I love the look of the new bands either side the most, or the bands by themselves, but not all 4 rings at once. My eyes don't know what to focus on & I feel there is too much going on. But everyone if different & you should wear what you love!

Wow your upgrade is a stunner! I really love it the most in the first photo with one matching band on either side.

Beautiful rings - I like all your stacking options, but my favourites are the first photo (everyday look) and the last, with the three bands. Whatever combination you choose, I think you can't go wrong! ;))

Beautiful upgrade! I love your everyday and option B best! You have the long slender fingers to pull of whatever you like, so just go with what you are feeling that day, IMO!

I love stack B, have you also considered just the two thin bands underneath your solitaire?

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm loving the options I have with the solitaire. Not sure I am committed to keeping my original band in the mix with the e-ring though because I do think I can do better. The setting on my original band is pretty high as compared to my new e-ring and thin bands and I think adding something a bit lower with round diamonds rather than princess and baguettes would work better. Though I do like the look of the two thin bands sandwiching my original band.

Thanks again and happy hump-day!

Beautiful upgrade! and I love all the options you've just opened yourself up to! Both A & B are lovely and depending on what you want to highlight you can choose to do something different each day!

I would suggest another stack:
Thin Pave
Ering
Original Band
thin Pave

Beautiful rings!! Stacking is fun!! So many options to choose from. Any and all combos work. Imo u can't go wrong with any them!
My stacks often change with my mood;-)

I love your first photo the best with the two thin bands but it is fun to mix and match bands depending on your mood!!! Congratulations on the beautiful upgrade!

You could always send your original band away and have the stones made into 1 or 2 new bands. I would do an open band w/ the baguettes & a station band w/ the princess cuts.

Thanks so much @Luce . I was actually inspired by a photo I found somewhere online (though I don't recall where, so unfortunately I can't credit it). Here is a comparison of my inspiration (except I knew I wanted a plain solitaire band) vs. my finished product. I think I came pretty close!

I hand't considered this @dtnyc ! Great idea. I'll need to start a thread for ideas on resetting the stones since I am not the most creative being. LOL Thanks!
