I decided to make a new thread for my sapphire because the other one is old and though we were still discussing this stone there...I want to make sure everyone sees my beauty!

I was trying to take pics with my newer digital but I can''t seem to locate a macro setting on it. Then I remembered my dinosaur in the hall closet...it has a macro setting!

I may just flat out need a new camera. This one may have had macro but the pictures for the most part weren''t clear and only a few had accurate color, so thats all you''re getting!

And this one...just because I caught some fire.

You are very lucky! Its a beautiful colour!!

Very nice! How do you like Jeff''s cutting?

can not comment on the camera...for me this one is OK. Stepcut, do you realize what a beauty you own? If I were you, I''d name it "American beauty".

I love Jeff''s cutting, it sparkles! And I do realize I have a real beauty! I''m so happy with it!

I can''t see the cutting, but I saw his pictures, so I know it is wonderful.

I can see the color from your pics and it is superb!

Yeah, I am unable to get close enough pics to show the cutting, so these will mainly have to be for color.

It''s a beautiful stone! Do you have specs on it--both cw and dimensions?

Here is my beauty inside. Thanks to diorwine for schooling me in how to put my newer camera on macro! I still though even with this camera can't get close enough to show cutting before it blurs! But this is an accurate pic of what I see inside my own house...which happens to be the worst light for my stone.

I do. It is a 2.00 ct Sri Lankan heated sapphire. 7.3mm

My bathroom lighting shows the cutting best, but it also looks its most purple in that lighting. I specifically asked for a sapphire that had as little shift to purple when indoors as possible.

ETA-The cutting didn't show up like I thought it would.
And ick! My bf cut his beard this am and its all over! I just noticed it!

I think your sapphire is a really beautiful color. These pictures definitely turned out better than your others.

beautiful color!

I love how soft blue it looks in the outdoor pictures; how can anyone not drool over it?

gorgeous color!!!

I love it! That blue is incredible, wow! And actually that looks like very little of a purple shift compared to the sapphires I own.

One more camera note: your inside pic looks like the background is really well in focus. See if you can either focus on the case (maybe it got confused by the stone) or go from slightly farther away and crop the pic? It seems to have focused well in your bathroom, so it really ought to focus well in other places too :)

Seriously, wow.

Aww, thanks everyone. I''m so happy with it.

I will try a few more and crop them deor.

Lovely colour.

Hello stepcutgirl,

Just chiming in to say you own a very vivid and beautiful sapphire! I can''t wait to see what you are going to do with it.

Do you have a thread on how it is going to be set? Is this and engagement ring stone?

I am also waiting on my own Jeff White stone 2 or so weeks to go!!!

What kind of stone is Jeff cutting for you? Yes, this is my ering stone! I am a little up on the air about settings, possibly a Sholdt solitare and possibly a custom french cut halo, though the latter is proving to possibly be very expensive.

Thanks for the comments!

I really really really love your sapphire. The color is gorgeous and I like its different personalities! That is the best thing about sapphires, I think, how versatile they are. You have a beauty there.

Awesome. The depth of the color just draws you in!

A really rich, deep blue. Absolutely wonderful!

What a lovely engagement ring stone. It''s a gorgeous color! You''re so lucky to own a JW sapphire.

How about a cushion shaped halo?

Beautiful!

Lovely shade of blue. Please keep us in the loop regarding how you''d like to set it...whatever you choose, this stone will make the ring an heirloom piece. Congratulations!

Thank you thank you thank you!

Of course you will all be in the loop as to how I set it! I''m not sure I will be able to make up my own mind! And gg-I have rolled the cushion shaped halo idea over and over in my head.
