Long time lurker de-lurking to share my new ring! My original engagement ring (Tiffany Legacy Ornate) and band were stolen about a month ago and I knew I wanted a more simple setting this time around.

I worked with Perry at Leon Mege to find an antique style cushion and he was great to work with. Unfortunately, he didn't have anything that matched the specs I wanted (over 2.5ct, F color, VS1). Luckily Chris at ERD had the perfect stone for me! It is a 2.58 F VS1 Old Mine Cushion.

Then, I had to decide who to go to for the setting. I knew I wanted an extremely delicate solitaire setting (since I have a size 3 finger) with a touch of micropave and after combing through other's pictures on pricescope, I knew Victor was the one to go to. I decided on the Alaria solitaire with flush stems without any cathedral. I just love the pave on the basket, such an unexpected surprise! The turn around time was amazing, 3 weeks :appl: Here is the video from Victor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJELPdixJuA&list=UUjKUkZZv7JZaLvAAGWUQBaw&index=1

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and please let me know if there are any questions! I have learned so much from pricescope and am looking forward to posting more in the future!ring1_1.jpgring2.jpgring3_0.jpg

Beautiful new ring--congrats! VC has done a wonderful job! Have you decided on a wedding band yet?

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

Thanks! I am actually not sure if I will get another band....I am going to wear it alone for a while and see how I feel. If I decide to get one, I'll probably have Victor make a matching band with micropave.

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

Utterly beautiful

Very sorry to hear about your original rings though. My original engagement ring was damaged beyond repair so I know how heartbreaking it feels to lose it.

ahh, i love your ring!! it's perfect! would you plan on wearing a wedding band with it? if so, what kind????

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

I love cushions. I love the color, the faceting and everything about your stone. I love the way you set it simply, with elegance. I love how the stone and setting blend so perfectly. I love how it looks on you! I so want an antique cushion some day.

But please post more photos; that wasn't sufficient for us ogglers. Closeups, more hand shots, profiles, gallery shots - you know, the whole shooting match.

It was a bit cloudy outside but in real life it's so sparkly!

I'm still undecided about a band, but if I get one it will probably be a matching micropave band.

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

perfect cushion and setting...awesome choices...bet you are really excited...one of my very favorites.

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

The VC Alaria is one of my favorites and to see your gorgeous cushion in this setting, My gosh, it looks AMAZING! :cheeky:  :cheeky: You picked a gorgeous and classy setting! Love the flush-fit stems and the pave work is perfection. The touch on the basket is beautiful and compliments the ring. Please post more pics if you can ;) I just adore your ring!

Also, ERD is excellent to work with I am happy they found you such a beautiful stone! :appl: :halo:

Re: My Victor Canera Alaria solitaire with ERD Old Mine Cush

Awww thanks everyone!!! I will try and get some outdoor pics when there is more sun. I can totally tell the differnce in color between this ring and my Tiffany ring which was an I color. This one faces up soooo white, it is amazing.

I am still undecided about the band, what does everyone think? Is it strange to be married and not wear a second ring? I don't want people asking me when my wedding date is for years to come LOL. If I get a band, can you see anything other than a matching thin band looking OK?

If you want to wear a ring on the same finger as your e-ring, I think a matching thin band would be very beautiful and classic. But, if you like a little bit of variety you could try a mismatched set. On this thread below, there is a post by DCdiamondgirl who matched a Leon Mege eternity band with her pave shanked e-ring. I think it would be a similar look to yours, except imagine it without the halo on your ring.

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/what-wedding-band-do-you-wear-with-your-hw-inspired-halo.167089/

I think it looks really, REALLY nice, but it didn't work out in the end because I think the eternity band ended up hitting the delicate e-ring too much. But what I'm thinking is that her ring had a donut on it from which the stems protruded from the donut. You can see on this pic in the side profiles:

So, I could be wrong, but it might have been hitting a bit b/c the stems sat on that donut and went up from there. Yours has the stems of the prongs sitting flush on the top of the shank. It also appears there is even a little bit of extra height given to the stems before they separate into a "v" and make the prongs. So, it's possible that there might be a little more height from your finger to the prong stems. Do you know the height between your finger to when the prong stem branches?

But, the other thing to think about too, is that with some eternity bands, the diamonds "hang" over the side a little in a scalloped manner, so it might be that the diamonds on some eternity bands end up still scratching the e-ring over time if not wore with a spacer.

Here's another mismatched set: pic of Frankie's old pave e-ring with a eternity band which is maybe 8 point I think.

You would just have to imagine it with a cushion shape diamond and Victor's pave instead of Michael B pave... but it would be a similar look I would think. Which is a really awesome look!

But again in this ring I think she wore a spacer to prevent the diamonds on the eternity from scratching to pave on the e-ring.
