I am so happy to finally be joining the VC Emilya Club -- and with a marquise!
I had never considered a marquise, but it ended up being the perfect shape for me. I wanted a shape that flattered my long fingers, as well as gave me some good finger coverage. I also didn't want to spend more than $5,000 (stone + setting). I spent some time looking at pears on James Allen and DBL and realized I'd have to go down to around a K color, which I was okay with at first, but I couldn't find one I loved. After sifting through what seemed like hundreds of pears, ovals, and marquises, I finally found the one. A .70 ct VS1 I from James Allen. It measures 9.20x4.47, L/W ratio is 2.06, and has a medium blue fluorescence. It's perfect to me!

With this gorgeous stone, I could finally get my dream setting: the Emilya, in platinum, by Victor Canera. The only modifications I made to this otherwise perfect setting were removing pave on the donut and the shank. I did this because I'd be pairing it with my wedding band, which is a 3mm shared-prong eternity band by Maytal Hannah. After exactly four weeks it's finally here! I wasn't sure if the I color would bother me, but it totally doesn't. It's so white and bright! And no bow tie either. I'm in love and might have shed a couple tears of joy lol. I'm just so happy!
It's classic and simple, but the halo + marquise shape keeps it looking modern and a little edgy. The plain shank makes the center stone and my wedding band pop. Ah, I just love it so much!
And for some pictures...all the same but in different lighting. Hope y'all don't mind!

Big thanks to Nicholas at Victor Canera for answering all my questions promptly and for making the whole process super easy for my husband and I. Speaking of my husband, I have to thank him too of course. This project wouldn't be possible without him and he was soooo patient while I searched for diamonds and otherwise stressed about making sure everything turned out perfect. We PSers sure have some extremely patient partners
