I ordered a 50''s vintage dress from PoshGirlVintage.com, and it arrived yesterday. I''m so excited! It will need some altering on the top, as there''s about a 4 inch gap on the shoulderless side.

It''s color is very pretty and vibrant, but I''m kinda at a loss about jewelry and shoe ideas. I was thinking no necklace. I have some brown wedges on here just for reference. What do you think?

Here''s the back

I''m concerned about the seam along the waist. It sits unevenly along the waist and looks kinda frumpy. I thought a sash would work well. I had a satin ribbon lying around and tied it on for inspiration. Thought it looks better. What color sash? Any ideas on where I could find a long enough one?

Here''s the front, up close. I feel like a Greek Goddess!

Hot pinks and reds are almost immpossible to match. You would have to go into the store with the dress and hold them together or buy every hot pink shoe on zappos and hope one worked
I like the sash idea. I would recomend a metalic sash like a gold or a silver. You shoes could then match the sash so your outfit is together but neither matchy matchy or worse, attemps to match when they don't. If you give us more specifics on shoes (heel height, style, etc) I am sure we can help. I LOVE shoe hunts.
I second no necklace but either an upper arm band or a bangle bracelet would look great.

Too cute! It fits you perfectly! Congrats on getting it!

Love that style on you! Okay, for the gaps and seams, just find a great tailor and let them take care of it...dont wear a sash - it ruins the great lines of that dress!

As for jewelry, I''m thinking a pair of fabulous "statement" earrings and bangles on each wrist - think vintage Bvlgari or Verdura! With black, silver or gold shoes, depending on the metal color of the bangles...er viola! Perfect!

That dress is too cute on you and I love it with the skinny ribbon sash!!

I wouldn''t wear a sash with it either. I think that it ruins the style of the dress.

I vote no sash too! And I second the metallic shoes, either gold or silver would work great. It looks fabulous on you!!

I did a little YAY! when I saw this thread and my pooch looked at me like I was nuts for talking to myself :) Anywho, you look smashing! I think it's a good call on the sash, it does make it look a bit more pulled together, but it looks great without it too!

I'd say if you're going to do silver or gold, go with silver (but thats based off of the colour it shows up on my screen). It all depends on what kinda vibe you're going for. Perhaps to go with the greek vibe it has, find a skinny silver (if thats what you end up going with that is ;)) sash or something and wrap it around several times, letting the ends hang loose?

I'll go look for some shoes! :D

Thanks ladies! I think maybe I'll see what the tailor can do before I look for a sash. They can do wonders, right? Or the silver sash wrapped around a few times is a GREAT idea!! That's what I'll do if the tailor can't fix it to my satisfaction.

Metallic shoes would be great! I bought some gold shoes for my wedding dress- I'll have to try those! As for shoes, I can wear any style; and since these are for my RD, they don't have to be comfortable!

The dress isn't exactly hot pink-- in person, it's more of a pink orange-red color. Very bright!

I'd love to see any jewelry ideas you have! :) I thought of some flashy earrings. But I also thought a fantabulous brooch on the shoulder side with understated stud earrings would be great too!

Oh crap, I totally forgot about a fantastic brooch to accentuate that fantastic one shouldered flippity do da thingy! Yes! So...pair of fabulous earrings, brooch in middle shoulder of flippity thingy, and maybe one amazing bangle on the opposite wrist of the brooch? For balance and harmony and all that...I have to run now but look up "vintage Verdura bracelet" and/or "vintage Bulgari" and see what you find...that''s what I''m thinking...or something that looks like that...You will look like a 1940''s Hollywood siren in that outfit!
