I am married and happy to have it all over. Our day was perfect! It rained and was just YUK the entire week before our wedding. Sunday came and the sun came out...but only for the day! Our day! It was warm, not hot, no wind and the sun hit the terrace where our ceremony was pefectly.
The following week was dreary, cold and rainy. We were so lucky.
We were married at an old English style mansion outside on the terrace that overlooks the living room area of the house. As well as the flower gardens and several large water fountains out on the grounds. You could look over the terrace and look down and out and it was a beautiful view.
Our ceremony was at 11:00 am and we served brunch. We had a gourmet style chicken salad on a croissant, two different kinds of quiche, hashbrowns and fruit. Juice, coffee and milk. An hour later we had a dessert buffet consisting of our wedding cake which was a chocolate torte style wedding cake with 4 layers of raspberry mouse, pettie fours with an L on each one. As our names both start with an L, chocolate covered strawberries also with an L on them.Giant choc chip and M and M cookies, 3 kinds of bite sz cheese cake and brownies with Cheesecake frosting.
Our cocktails were champagne mimosas and bloody Mary cocktails, coffee, lemonade punch.
Our youngest daughter woke up that morning (she is 6) nervous for the day. She was shaking, crying, and than started throwing up. She said she wanted to just sit by grandma and she did not want to say her poem. My hairdresser came to my house at 8 am and started with me. By the time she got through her two sisters and it was her turn she we were able to get her to come out of her room as long as she had her puke bowl with her. She sat to have her hair done and started calming down. We drove to the mansion and she had to have her bowl. But you could see her relaxing. In the end, as soon as we descended the big staircase and walked into the atrium to come out. She was relaxed and poised and all better. She walked out first. Her sisters followed. Than me. She read her poem like a trooper and everything was beautiful.
She is not normally so emotional. However she had a huge week. The Thursday before our wedding was her last of of school and daycare. She was sad about missing her friends and missing her teachers. Than our wedding 3 days later which was becoming emotional for everyone as time got nearer. Than a week long stay at grandmas with her older sisters while we went on our honeymoon. We have never been away from her. She has never stayed anywhere. grandma and grandpa love her. However, she only sees them a couple times a year. This was all a lot for her, I think she was very overwhelmed. She did great though! All 3 of my girls did great! I was so proud of them.
Iam going to try to post some pics. I hope you like. My brother took them and although he is not a professional photog. We think he did a beautiful job! Nothing is retouched just yet. it''s us in all our glory!!!
The first pic is of me and my girls. My oldest is 17 and my middle daughter is 14. My middle daughter is the tallest of the two. They are from my first marriage and our youngest is 6. She is ours together.
