This is my first project ring, and I absolutely love how it turned out! I had posted and received so much help finding my stone in the Colored Stone section. So thanks again everyone!

It is a 3.08 palish- pink tourmaline from Precision Gem, 9.1mm x 9.1mm.

I found my setting at a local jewelry store. It has a 1.35 carats of G/H SI1 diamonds on the setting. They did an amazing job! The double claws are perfect and the stone is sitting exactly as I had asked for it to. The diamonds on the band go almost all the way around, and there are diamonds on the side of the gallery as well.

Here are some quick photos I snapped at the jewelry store, so they aren''t the best! I will take some more and post them when I have the ring. I am getting it mailed to me so I don''t have to pay crazy tax.

I hope everyone likes it!!!!!

This picture was with a shadow of my camera down on it, so the stone looks a bit darker than normal!

A little blurry but shows the sparkle:

A picture of the side profile, I will try to get a better picture when I have the ring at home!

Thanks for looking

Goodness, that turned out beautifully!

Since you said you found the setting at your local jeweler, is it a brand, or do they specialize in custom settings?

Can''t wait to see this when it gets to you!

I keep looking at the photos myself and smiling. I should have the ring by FedEx Thursday sometime, so expect more photos Thursday or Friday!

The stone is from Gene at Precision Gem, I am so thankful his photo was so accurate of the stone I received. It is EXACTLY what I was imagining in my head, which I never expected for my first whack at this whole colored stone/ custom ring process.

The setting is custom, had no brand. It was in a case that was labeled "Settings of $**** and higher" or something like that. I do know they outsource to various vendors. The vendor of my setting happened to be in a meeting with the store owner in one of the offices, and the SA asked them in person when the ring could be ready. So it wasn''t done in-house.

I actually kept my search limited to ''no brand'' settings to keep the cost lower, even though there obviously was still a premium buying from a B&M store. But I love having the comfort of knowing they will clean/size/fix anything and be there when I need them, in person. First project, I was a little scared!

It''s crazy, at first I was thinking, "This is going to be a small first project, simple, modest, no more than $1000.00 for the setting..." But that was wishful thinking. I love bling-y, intricate settings, and I love splurging!

Thanks for the compliment about my nails! I slapped some Essie Fiji polish on them myself before hopping on a flight, they actually look pretty sloppy up close lol.

Again, THANKS for all of the compliments!!!!!!! I really appreciate it. I haven''t thanked everyone by name, but I am so happy everyone likes it.
