Hi Ladies,
I am getting married in a very short time(3 weeks!) and I am starting to get stressed. I am wearing a very simple dress(actually a BM dress) and will try to attach a picture that is a shorter version(not exactly) of the dress.the dress color is called beige but looks like off white. I fell in love with colored shoes like Neatfreak wore(not the same shoes but the idea) and am not sure if they will look o.k. Not sure also if a birdcage veil will go...thanks again Neatfreak. I wasn''t really trying to copy all of your stuff I swear, but you have really great taste. Anyway, imagine the dress longer, ivory with ivory bow below(empire wast) and gathering across the bodice, not lace. I want to know if you think colored shoes would look good, and what color? I am interested in pink or red. Second, I want to know if a birdcage veil would match the style of dress? I have seen them with all different styles but am just having trouble seeing it. Thanks for your help and opinions. I really appreciate it. I will try to attach the picture. the veil is simple with just a comb. no feathers.

what a drag the pics didnt show up. the dress is chiffon, empire waist, satin bow, ivory looking color. long. shoes are satin red. I think you all know what the birdcage looks like. any advice for getting the pics up? thanks

The dress is very soft looking so I would definitely wear pink shoes before red. I don''t know enough about the birdcage to comment.

I think light pink shoes would look nice with the dress... maybe something a little strappier than the ones you posted though. And the birdcage might look good... I''d need to see an actual pic of the dress though to know for sure. Do you have a pic of the actual dress?

Thanks hera and obiecoo for your comments. I really appreciate it. I kind of knew the red wasn''t gonna work out but didn''t want to let it go. I am going to have a trial of hair and makeup done on saturday. Hopefully I will like how the birdcage veil looks, since I already purchased it. I am thinking if I don''t love it over my face, I could pull it back and wear it over my hair in the back(if its in a chignon or big bun or something). I will look again for some pink shoes. I know of one pair but think maybe it''s not strappy enough. What do you all think of silver?

I agree with the opinion for pink shoes, not red, but I would go a little strappier - it seems like the shoes are a little "heavy" for the dress. The dress is such a pretty, light dress that it seems like the shoes should be strappy light sandals to me. jmo

If you don''t like the way your birdcage veil looks you can alter it pretty simply to reflect different styles, but still get the "birdcage effect". Here are two I posted yesterday... they are birdcage-y but a little more flexible for different styles. I know what you mean though about it maybe not going - I have a ballgown and I wanted to wear one to my reception.

Hi Happily,
thanks foryour input. I think I am going to go make another shoe run today. Yes I saw your post yesterday regarding the birdcage. I am happy for you that you are going to make your own, and a bit jealous. I thought about it but pictured mine falling apart mid way through the ceremony. It sounds like you are pretty resourceful and crafty. So awesome.
How is your planning going? Keep showing us your progress. I love to read how everyone is doing, though I wish I had more time to respond. take care,

Hey pave! No worries, I am absolutely flattered that you like what I chose! And don''t let these little details stress you out or else you won''t have fun on your wedding day! It goes by sooooo quickly, so just live in the moment and enjoy. On the day of you can make the little decisions like whether to wear the veil or not. Don''t fret before you have to!

I think the colored shoes would be fab, but I agree that you might want to go a little less chunky with such a wispy dress.

As for the birdcage, only you can tell with the real dress. If you got one like mine, what I actually did after the ceremony was to pin it back as a "pouf" over the bun. It looked great like that too, so that is another option. I will try and find a picture for you...

Here is a good picture of how I pinned the veil back after the ceremony. I really just scrunched up the veil part and threw in a couple of bobby pins. Didn''t even use a mirror, but it worked well!

You seemed to like vintage looking shoes, so I posted a few that I thought you might like. I bought a pair of silver shoes and I love the metallic ones, perhaps gold? It might look very nice with your of white dress. Also consider that you will probably be standing/dancing in the shoes a lot.

HI brazen and all who replied, thanks for all of the links. I had been poring over zappos for a while. I gave up on the red and got some beautiful strappy sandals(silver) and some great jewelry too. I also found a jeweled headband and tried on the birdcage but cant'' get it right, exactly. At least I have options. Got my makeup done too yesterday so I feel like things are coming together. The countdown is on!!
