Need Advice On the Symmetry

I have found a stone with the colour, the proportion, and other things fit my requirements. After I have seen the photos of the stone I have attached, I realized the two halves of the stone are slightly different. One half is slight bigger than the other half. Maybe I am too picky. I just need advise on the symmetry of the stone since it is pricy. Do you think the difference of the two halves is acceptable?

The three stones in the photo are the same stone.

Thank you very much.

Could it be that that triangular facet reflection is fooling the eye into thinking the right side is fatter than the left?

The stone is beautiful. I also wonder if the facet reflection is creating a look of more volume on one side. If it truly is slightly bigger on the side, personally I think I'd be ok with it, given the other qualities.

^ agreed. Lovely color, lovely shape overall.

Thank everyone for your advice. These photos show the symmetry and the outline of the stone more clearly. Just want to confirm to make sure I am not being too picky.

I think it's gorgeous. If I strain my eyes I think I can see slight variations, but I find these individual differences very special and unique. In some ways absolute perfection is boring. It's pretty fantastic!

The color is really, really, really lovely. I see the slight variation, but not sure if I would've noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. TBH, when a stone is set I notice if the prongs are off more than any variances in stones. What size is it? It looks like a nice size.

There are two different preferences here. Do you want precision cut or really well cut but non-precision? IMO, this is a really well cut non-precision stone. I am not married to the idea of precision cut only. However, if it bugs you now, it will only be worse over time. I'd suggest minimizing the size of the picture to its actual measurement and see if the asymmetry still bothers you. Remember that it has to be both eye and mind clean in all ways for you.

Well said, Chrono. One needs to determine first what will be mind clean.

I would also be sensitive to the fact that it may generally appear somewhat darker, as it seems to be taken in quite bright light. Just something else to consider.

I agree that sometimes, perfection is boring. I also consider how easy to resale the stone.

Thank you for your comment. The size is 9.3mm x 8mm.

I am not obsessed with the precision cut because I think some precision cuts have ugly shapes. I am not looking for flawless stone. As not as the flaw is not noticeable to my naked eyes, I am fine. Your suggestion is really helpful because I keep looking at the magnified photos.

I have bought two melees of the two colour grade he recommended before I decided on this colour. It should be very close to the colour I am looking for. But I will check with him again since you point out the lighting is quite bright.

Wow, I wish I had been as thoughtful and prudent as you when I started collecting!
