I just purchased a 1.54 carat round diamond in a 3mm classic solitaire setting.

I’ve settled on a rounded lace wedding band and I’m trying to decide if I should match the width of my engagement ring or go down to to 2.5mm.

What would you recommend?

I personally would have it less wide so there's a visual distinction between ering and wedding band.

My band is wider than my solitaire. I have a lot of different widths so I think it's really just personal preference.
The gold band is 2.5mm, the platinum band is 3mm and the engagement ring tapers down to 1.5 at the end.

I would go thinner for interest but its really personal preference. You should go try on some different widths.

I don’t think you have to match exactly as long as the combination looks good to your eye. My band is around 3 mm, while the original ering is a string band and the new one is about 2.5mm if memory serves.

I would try on some sample rings in those widths. For me, thinner rings are more comfortable and wearable, but it depends on your preference of course. I think the way one's fingers are shaped makes a difference too. I find 2.5 or even 2 mm to be a wearable size for me.
