Hello everyone, i saw how helpful everyon was on this forum, so i wanted to ask for some help!

I need to find a place to propose. Im looking for a isolated beach area (mostly in so cal )where i can setup a dinner setting on the beach sand for around 5-8 people. Looking for a place where i can have a bonfire, set up tiki light and so forth . I dont even know if this is possible unless a property is owned.

Does anyone know where i can find information to find places as such, or even catering companies that do private events on the beach.

your help is greaty appreciated!

Here''s a list of beaches where you can have bonfires. Usually, they''ll have cement pits already set up for the purpose. They certainly won''t be isolated most weekend nights, so if you can go on a Thursday or even earlier in the week that might help. Also, there''s no reservation system for the fire pits other than first come, first served, so you might want to get there early and stake out a place.

I''ve been to Dockweiler in Los Angeles, which is unfortunately right next to LAX, so you have to contend with jets going overhead at very low altitudes every 2 minutes or so. Not great for a proposal, but a fun place for a picnic.

Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro can be nice, if you''re not there mid-day on a weekend. It''s a small beach, with cliffs behind it and rocky shores that make for interesting scenery.

I think the nicer beaches are the ones in Orange County, like Corona del Mar, but again, most of the truly "isolated" beaches don''t allow bonfires. For exactly that reason, most likely. They are less accessible in case of an emergency.

It sounds like a nice plan, I wish you luck!

Right, if it's isolated, I don't think you can have bonfires. Those are the big state beaches, like Huntington.

The most isolated I've been to is Crystal Cove. I have been to catered parties there.

You might do better to get in touch with a hotel that is beachfront?

thanks this is helping alot!!!!

in regards to teh bonfire i guess its not rellevent but i do wish to set up something on teh sand like a dinner setting of some sort

does that sound wierd??

so i guess a quiet beach more isolated would be better. would i need to get permission from teh city if i was to set something up?

okay i guess im stressing out you see my gf is expecting a proposal from me so the whole suprise factor is alot harder. and thats why as hars as this may sound i told her that the ring had to be order and will be shiped in dec, and since we are getting hitched in jan i tod her lets not make a big deal about this engagement thingy...of course she went nuts haha , but ihad to do something right?

the other thing is im not so much of a beach person so if i were to say lets go to the beach she might think its a lil odd.

suggestions please ! help haha

Catalina?

You don''t need city permission to set up a dinner, but a secluded So Cal beach in the summer is a tall order.

Maybe a patio table at a waterfront restaurant would do?
