Hello! I''m new here and I desperately need help finding a wedding band as we are to elope in 1 month. My ering is 5mm wide, platinum, cathedral, with a 1.66 carat round stone, size 4.25 from Blue Nile. Originally, I asked for a wide band b/c I wanted to just wear the e-ring without a wedding band. However, I''ve since changed my mind. I''ve been searching through these posts and looking through photos and it''s hard for me to imagine how a wedding band would look since my band is much wider than most people''s. I''ve tried some on in the jewelry stores, but there isn''t much of a selection where I live. First I thought I would like the channel styles, but since my band is so domed on the sides, it doens''t look right since the channel styles are flat on the sides. I am a matchy-matchy person, so I think I would like a wedding band which is domed as well. I considered the scattered band, but I think it would be too wide since my fingers are small. I considered a plain band, but I think it would be too plain if I am just wearing the band alone. Maybe an engraved band would look good, but I haven''t been able to find one to try on. I ordered the .50 ctw 5 stone ring from blue nile
http://www.bluenile.com/product_details.asp?oid=485&catid=8&filter_id=0&nav1=band_channel.asp&page=1&col=2&row=2&pos=5&set_shape=and I will get it this week, but I''m afraid I won''t like how it looks. I don''t want something that would overwhelm the solitaire. Does anyone have photos of their wide solitaire ering with wedding band?
Thanks!

Why don''t you get a lovely wide diamond wedding band and wear your engagement ring on your right hand?

I have a friend who has your setting and a thin 2mm band. She lurks so I''ll post for her :) This was her old setting until she got a fab upgrade to a 2.12 Tiff Replica!

For size, her finger is a 3.25

Or maybe two really skinny eternity bands, one on each side? They have some that are <2mm... I was looking for the link the other day, maybe someone can find it... I haven''t been successful.

The pic Snooper posted looks nice! But if you want some added bling (...which I can so relate to, I have a solitaire and knew I wanted a diamond band without a doubt.), I think a very thin eternity band would look nice. I personally prefer shared prong.

I want to keep the ering on my left hand since I am right-handed and perhaps not the most gentle person with the ring. I thought about a wedding ring on the right hand, but I think I would prefer having it on my left hand with the ering. Thanks for posting the photo with the plain 2mm band. It looks nice together, but I want just a little bling, not too much, in case I am wearing it by itself. My concern about an eternity ring is resizing issues in the future. Does anyone have a photo of a similarly wide band with an eternity ring? Thanks for you help!

my engagement ring is 6mm wide. i currently wear a 3mm comfort fit plan band everday. its super comfy.

the hubby just bought me two 1ct shared pront eternity bands that im going to wear on either side when i want som more sparkle.

i dont think a plain band would look bad at all! i think its a very classy and not overdone look.

Mia, I think Sparkles is on the right track. I think you''ll need more stones to go from one edge of your finger to the other. The ten pointers that you ordered from Blue Nile will certainly show up. Nice size! But you''ll probably need seven to cover your entire finger width even with a size 4.25 finger.

I know this is hard to judge unless you''re able to go into a jewelry store and try different rings on, but I have a size 6.25 finger and I needed seven fifteen pointers to cover the top of my finger from edge to edge where my other fingers meet my ring finger. Is that the look you''re trying to achieve? Total coverage? I know it''s all a matter of taste but my feeling is that''s what your looking for- total coverage for the top on your ring finger. It will create a better frame for your large Ering stone.
