Hello everyone! I recently inherited this ring and am mainly wondering what type of stone it is. It reminds me of something like crysoprase but I am not sure. It is sterling silver (marked 925) and also has a stamp that looks like "土". If anyone knows what that hallmark is, that would also be helpful.

Lovely size and color! I would guess Chrysoprase. It looks just like one to me.

I don't know if this is the reason it is there but that is a chinese character 土 (tu) sometimes meaning handmade. I assume you may know this, as i cant imagine how you typed it otherwise.

Oh okay, thank you! I actually did not know that but I can read some Japanese hence why I could type the character.

=)2 I was wondering about that possibility. In that case if it is an heirloom piece perhaps it was made in japan and you are looking at makers mark in kanji. Meanings also sometimes cross between the two scripts, even if the pronunciation is totally unrelated, so it may also simply mean something about craftsmanship in Japanese. I am afraid I know no japanese so this is the limit of my conjectures:lol-2:.

If it's from Asia, could it be jade? It's very pretty.
