That's not Amethyst, looks like purple Fluorite to me, which is a soft stone not really suitable for cutting and setting into jewelry.
Could google the price of fluorite mineral specimens if you like.

Thank you, good to know!

hey if youre still available can you possibly tell me about one more crystal? IMG_0023.jpg IMG_0024.jpg

Glad to help but this is purely guesswork based on photos, you should ask an expert (or try a mineral/rock hound forum) if you want reliable answers.

Cannot tell from those photos what that is, too small, it could be more Fluorite, could be Calcite...could be anything.
I am by no means an expert, stones are a hobby for me.

okay, thanks for all the help! really appreciate it

Even though it has a confusing shape, I think it may well be an amethyst. I’ve seen some like that with the double terminated crystal, also growing up like that in some amethyst specimens out of north Carolina...a little like these, but I’ve seen pieces even more like yours in a YouTube video in which they are digging for them. No idea about worth because amethyst is plentiful...though there is a lot of lab grown and heated now. Crystal specimens are valued as specimens...maybe $50 if it is a nice size. The bigger, the more expensive as specimens...but it all depends on what a person is willing to pay.

My best guess for the second crystal is some mix between citrine and smokyey quartz, but it could be many other things. If it’s Smokey quartz..and if the first is an amethyst, you have different varieties of quartz. You may be able to do specific gtavity tests at home to get a better idea.

I second Bluegemz and also believe that you have yourself a lil amethyst (:

Amethyst is a fairly cheap stone so just keep and enjoy unless you're willing to let it go for a small price.

Good luck! Its quite pretty though (:

Clean top color facet grade Amethyst sells for around $1 up to $3 per ct.
Pieces like yours that are not facet grade can be had at rock shops for a few dollars for the whole rock. For specimens people look for very well shaped and terminated crystals.

I say purple fluorite.

hey ya'll, i just came back to see if anyone else replied and geesh thank you! that is very helpful info
i will be sure to test the second crystal i posted to see if it really is citrine amethyst once again thanks for all the help, really appreciate it!

I think amethyst and smokey quartz or brownish amethyst for the second. We mined brownish amethyst just like that in Thunder Bay. It is actually hematitite trapped inside.
The bottom of the first one is what makes me think amethyst.
