I am a flute player (for over 20 years) but mainly for church functions. I''ve done about 4 weddings, mostly friends. But I just got a call out of the blue to play for an outdoor garden wedding of a stranger. I''d like to do more of this and start advertising, but have no clue how much to charge. Please tell me what you are paying an instrumentalist or what fees you did find when you asked around. Thanks.

Hi! We are paying $295 (NJ) for our organist, however he is a PHD and the exclusive organist of the chapel we are getting married in.

My friend plays weddings as part of a trio & she charges $100 per person for a regular ceremony. If you are going solo, I think you could prob. swing $150-$200ish.

I hired a flutist for my wedding.....held in the rose garden of a local park. She played for about 30 min prior to the wedding, plus 3 songs during the ceremony.

She charged $150, and I gladly paid it.....plus a generous tip. This was in North Shore, MA region.

Many violinists I asked were over $150. I found one for $145, was going to use her until I advertised at colleges and found a student for $85 for 1 hr. I am thrilled w/that price.
