Need ideas for mountingd resetting small stones

I am trying to come up with some design for 21 small diamonds (similar to what you would find in a cocktail ring). The sizes vary 6 - 1.7 to 6-2.7 (I think that''s what he wrote down, and a couple larger stones but less than 1/4. I''ve been to local jewerlry store and all they can come up with is a ''shrimp'' ring. What about an antique setting? Or earings? Not sure of all the lingo here. Anythoughts?

Does it have to be a ring? The list sounds like just the right ingredients to sprinkle an impressive bangle - Etoile style
