As I''ve mentioned before, I''m getting married in a rose garden in Orlando. The garden is doing custom postcards for me of the actual garden where we are getting married for our STD''s, and they are adorable.

Now I''m stuck on how I should get our information on the back of them! I''ve contacted a few local printers, and it would be astronomical to get them printed, so that''s out. I was thinking I could order a custom ink stamp, but I''m worried that would look cheesy. I could print the info on cute paper and glue it on the back...

Any thoughts?

Can the garden do the printing on the back while they''re making the postcards? If you haven''t already it doesn''t hurt to ask right?

I''m not sure how many you''re sending out, but how would you feel about hand writing them for a more personal touch? We did postcards but created the entire thing at moo.com, I got them during a free shipping promo so it was about $1 each, but I think it was worth it. They turned out great and according to FI''s mom everyone was talking about them when they got sent out. If you go the stamp route make sure to get the right kind of ink for your postcards. Some inks act different depending on what you put them on.

I did postcard STDs too, and after having them printed up with all our info, as I was writing the addresses on the back, I had the idea that I really wished I had just left them blank and wrote in a little note telling people about the wedding rather than having them printed. It would have been a bit more personal, plus I like the idea of it being a real postcard like you are writing from some far away place.

I had about 80 STDs to address, and it wouldn''t have been that much harder to just come up with a little note to write on the back of each one in addition to writing the address. It could even be the same note to everyone one, something like "Hi!! Mr Yarrmatey and I just wanted to drop you a little note to let you know we are getting married! So please make sure to mark your calendar for xx/xx/0x to come to our wedding in Orlando. We''ll send more details in the formal invitation a bit closer to the wedding. Can''t wait to see you! Love, Mr and future Ms Yarrmatey"

i still cant get used to the fact that i only think of one thing when i see the letters STD together

it makes me laugh everytime.

sorry...

LOL

carry on....

i love the personal postcard idea, by the way :)

Don''t worry about it, I thought the same thing! Go figure...I''m an OB nurse and new to the wedding organization/planning mindset! Its bound to happen.

They only do custom pictures, they won''t print our info on the back

I would hand-write, but my handwriting... isn''t the best, to say the least! I saw this really cute idea in a Martha Stewart magazine attaching tiny envelopes to the back of the postcard and putting little notes in each of the envelopes with the info, but I priced it online and it be even more expensive than getting them done at a printer. I found a site that does cute custom ink stamps (www.iprint.com), and I ordered one, but I''m still not sure if I''m going to use it. I''ll have to do a test run.

Maybe you could check with your local copy shop to see if there is a way to run them run them through a copier. If the venue is custom-printing the cards for you, they might even be able to leave them uncut so the cardstock is a more copier -- friendly size, and you could run multiple cards at once. You might even be able to do this on your home printer, especially if you''re working with larger sheets rather than individual cards.

Good luck!
