Okay, since I''m in my hometown that has my favorite shoe stores, I went scouring for wedding shoes today. First, I found a pair of insanely comfy navy blue shoes. Navy is the color my bridesmaids are wearing, but I''m still just not sure if I want to go the whole blue shoe route.

Then I found 2 pair that I loved at Bakers. My dress is ivory, and I definitely don''t want to do the die-ables because I haven''t found any styles that I actually like. At Bakers I found 2 colors that I thought might match. One pair is really comfy, the other I could see possible starting to hurt after a while. I bought both with the intentions of returning one after trying on wiht the dress.

I''m kicking myself for not having my digital camera with me, so I can''t show actual pics for a few more days. Here''s the first pair

They are in the pewter color. Do you think this color would go with an ivory dress? My dress has this thread for the embroidery that is like both silver and gold if that makes sense, and I''m planning on wearing silver jewelry since my bridesmaids are wearing navy with silver accents.

This is the second pair. I guess the color is silver, although in person they look more goldish, but not the really strong, true gold of most dress shoes. I''d say the color of these goes better with the dress than the pewter ones, but they are the ones I think will turn out to be painful.

What do you girls think?

I''m a fan of number 2. It is very elegant without being over the top... I''m worried the first ones may have too much going on, with the contrasting colors.
The price is very good on both of them-- can you buy both, try them on with you dress, and return the ones you dont like?

Thanks Meresal, that''s what I did, and I have to decide by Sunday because then I''m going home and won''t be back here for a while...

I vote for #2 too!! But I love all things peep-toe so maybe I''m biased....I also agree with meresal though, I like the solid color over the two-toned for wedding shoes.

Another vote for #2.

I think the pewter is also too dark and wouldn''t match ivory.
I think more of a gold looks better with ivory, but your accents are silver, so if the shoe is kind of gold, it sounds like they might be a good match.

What are the other shoe stores you are looking at besides Bakers?

#2 for me, too.

ETA: Have you had a look at zappos.com? They have tons of stuff and free shipping each way.

ETA more: Is that your dress in your avatar? It is gorgeous!

I also like number two and they actually look MORE comfortable to me. The heel is slightly thicker and it lacks the point in the toe, which to me seems more wearable.
You can always put insoles in; good ones really do help.

Thanks Karasue, Sera, Diamante, and BIH!

I wore them each for an hour last night. Unfortunately, the second pair is definitely too painful. The problem isn''t the heel height, it''s the fact that I have really wide feet, so it cuts in on the top of my pinky toe. I think I''m going to return them both today

. Even though I love the way the first pair feels on, they just don''t feel bridal-y to me, and I don''t think the color matches. I think I''ll try on the second pair in a half size bigger, but usually when that happens, if it does fit my wide feet better, it starts flipping off the back. Sigh. Oh, I''ve also looked at DSW, a store called the Shoe Department, and all of the department stores in the are. I''ve also looked on Zappos, but I haven''t ordered anything because I can''t find a color on there that seems to go with my dress. Any other suggestions on where to look?

I basically do allllll of my shoe shopping online, it''s a sickness I tell you! Obviously Zappos is phenomenal, and they also update their stock often so keep checking back. I also really like piperlime.com, they have some unusual finds sometimes. I don''t know how much you were looking to spend, but betseyjohnson.com has really great sales on shoes about once a month. Her shoes are typically a little crazy, but that''s my style and she''s one of my favorites!

Also, if you love the second pair and want to go up the half size, I recommend hitting footpetals.com for every kind of shoe insert imaginable. They have heel cups to keep from slipping, ball of foot pads to keep from dying, etc. I have a ton of their stuff and it all work wonders!
Good Luck!!

I recomend this site: http://www.ninashoes.com/
Their shoes are great and my friend with wider feet says that they often have a slightly wider version of their shoes if you call and ask for width "B". I also find thier shoes to be very comfortable and there were a few on the site that reminded me of the ones you liked.

There were these dyeable ones by Touch Ups... this would allow you to have the shoe in ivory (as opposed to gold, silver or pewter...) and with a silvery rhinestone doodad, it would coordinate with your BMs silver while not conflicting with your ivory.

Touch Ups Giselle $98 from Zappos.

Just to update...I tried on my dress with all of the shoes today. In natural lighting, the silver shoes didn''t actually look as good. And they hurt. Bad.

I had a long heart to heart with myself. I said...self, I know you have a weakness for peeptoed shoes. I know you want to wear them no matter what. But I know that if you wear these painful shoes on your wedding day, your feet will rebel and cramp up and cause you so much pain that you won''t even be able to dance.

So after this wonderful discussion in my brain, I realized that even though the pewter shoes don''t necessarily look wedding-y, that is the style of dress shoe that best fits my foot. I can pretend all I want that the other shoes fit, but they don''t. And on my wedding, for once, comfort is going to rule over my love of peeptoes.

So I returned the silver shoes, and I''m keeping the pewter ones. (I really didn''t want ivory shoes, and the pewter actually did look nice up against the dress). Maybe I''ll find shoes that I like better down the road, but these shoes are just so darn comfy that I think they are going to be the ones!

Anyway...thanks for all the opinions, sorry I didn''t listen!
