Thanks in advance.
I am looking to make my mom an opal necklace. It is her birthstone and my husband gave me one years ago and she has always admired it. She also used to have a little gold teddy bear that Dad got her when I was born, it went missing ages ago. My thought was to combine an opal with my brother and my birthstone (ruby) to create something new she can wear daily.
I loved what Yvonne did her so I asked her to source some gem combos and now I'm stuck and my brother is no help.
This is the inspiration:
1. These are 3 little guys and a stone on her site.
2. Same 3 little ones.
3. Another larger option, 3 littles and the ruby
4. A grouping using one of the 3 little ones.
And a video
I can't tell if I love the ruby. But was thinking maybe one of the lighter small opals would be a nice contrast.
I can also sub other stones, leave the ruby out (or use 2 rounds on the chain, not sure that is too much for mom, she is pretty low key) was thinking I could ask about benitoite. Not our birthstone but we are all CA babies. (Like 10 generations in)
