Need some setting inspiration!

Hey folks -

A while back I fell in love with the color on this tourmaline, and I’m thinking the time to set it is finally near. Problem is, I’m stumped on a design!

I know it wants to be in a pendant, and I think NS is the orientation. And YG for sure.

But a plain prong basket seems too simple, and a halo doesn’t quite feel right either. Usually not a fan of narrow bezel setting either.

Google images seems to turn up nothing inspiring! My current thinking is a wider engraved bezel of some sort - like a halo setting, but with some sort of design on the metal instead of melee.

Anyone have some good sources for inspiration images, or ideas that might fall in the space between a basket and and a halo?

I had the same thought, wanted something like a halo, but no melee. DK made this for me, bezeled center stone with engraved halo.

I immediately thought of something like this (credit to DK). I have seen it done before with emerald cuts as a ring and it was STUNNING. I bet it would look amazing as a pendant too!

I forgot to add a couple other things I found that seemed to be going in the right direction..

This is a stuller setting for a halo, but I like the shape of the face (not wild about the prongs..) Need to photoshop/shetch the outline together with the stone at some point:


Saw this which was meant to be abstract peacock feathers which given the color seems an apt motif for engraving:
