HI,

First time posting here. I'm trying to help my daughter choose a diamond for her engagement ring. She was in a major car accident and recovering so she doesn't get out much but her jeweler is bringing in two diamonds to show her on Saturday. I know there are better choices out there on some websites but she is an anxious person and I know she will settle for one of these. Hopefully, there won't be any major issues on both.

These are both natural round diamonds
VS2
H
Excellent cut, polish, symmetry

The 1.41 carat, I notice that the crown angle is a little high at 36
The 1.36 carat, I don't know if star length is a concern but this is at 45% and also has a faint fluorescent

I know without seeing them in person it is difficult to say which is the better stone. But if you can give me your personal opinion or concerns it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much

Hello

I have been on and off this site for years. My recommendation would be to www.whiteflash.com and get an ACA. "a cut above"
Search for diamonds around her max budget.
Check off ACA under advanced search. These stones will have all the specifications you need to ensure you are buying the best performing stone.
I wish I had known this years ago. It would have saved me time and money.
They are wonderful to work with.
find a couple, put them in your cart and either call or do a live chat.
They will then send you a video side by side of the stones.
They are masters at this and will give you their personal opinion on which is best out of the 2 or 3 you have picked.

This is truly the Best use of your money. There is no other vendor offering better.
Trust me, i have looked.

Good luck!

ps. they also offer an upgrade program for years down the line which is great.
its on their website with the finer details.

i am currently waiting for my 2nd stone from them.

hard to pick just based on the cert but I would lean more to the 1.36 depending on the price; especially if she would consider WhiteFlash, if not an ACA perhaps the Expert Selection.

She doesn't have to settle between those two diamonds. Does she have a budget in mind so we could try to help her find a diamond?

Exactly. There is no reason for her to settle for one of these

I understand wanting to pick in person. She could likely find a better cut. But since she will see both of these, she can just pick with her eyes. Examine it in all lighting situations. Look for areas that stay dark and don't light up. Look for edge to edge brightness. Look for nice patterning of light and darks.
