Can you ladies recommend a wedding dress vendor to me pls? Very new in this and all I see so far are strapless with train, I don''t want train in my dress. Any thoughts?

There are a lot out there. You can buy online (preownedweddingdresses.com) or go to a store. There are a bunch more online, but do your research. Do a google search in your area and just start heading to some places to look. When you go to a store, they will want to know your approximate budget and some ideas of what you want. If you already narrowed it down to no train, tell the sales people and they can help you. Try on lots of different styles to see what looks the best on you. A dress without a train is actually quite easy to find.

Lanie gave you some great places to begin your search! I just wanted to add a bit more advice that I found really helpful in my own dress search:

Start by figuring out some general stuff about your wedding if you haven''t done so already, such as if it is formal or casual, what feelings/themes you want to evoke, and what location you are wanting to be married in. It can be very overwhelming to go looking without knowing the context you want the dress to fit into.

Then look at lots and lots of pictures of dresses. They don''t have to be wedding dresses even, go to the designer section of department stores (in person or online) and see what dress styles and shapes you are drawn to. Once you find designers you like, look for their websites and find out where there are stores near you that sell them and try on!

Also, if you are simply wanting a traditional wedding dress look minus the train - most trains can be cut off, many girls on PS have had this done and it seems like a very easy process. If the train is just one part of a general traditional wedding look you are trying to avoid - look at evening gowns, designer dresses, or vintage shops, whatever fits to your taste.

Sorry if this was way off from what you were asking, just thought I would share.

Go to brides.com. They have a dress database where you can search by designer, sleeve type, neckline, etc etc. That''d be a good place to start.

If you don''t want a train, I recommend Mori Lee''s destination collection, or Moonlight''s informal collection.

Good luck!

Keep in mind, too, that as long as the train is designed similarly to the rest of the dress, it can always be removed--that''s what I did. You should also check out the Jenny Yoo bridal alternatives (I love them so, so, so much), Thread, Saeyoung Vu, and J. Crew. Lots of designers make white and cream dresses, too, so don''t limit yourself to just looking at dresses specifically labeled as wedding dresses.
