did u know that in earlier times, actresses/actors/performers/circus folk etc. were lumped in socially with prostitutes, pimps, scam artists etc?
my mother told me this years ago(i thought she was being ridiculous) but i actually read it as fact somewhere recently.

Kaylagee is absolutely right....until the early 20th century, the stigma of actresses being widely considered to be prostitutes was why most actresses of the British and American stages at the time were always referred to as "Mrs. _____" regardless of their marital status. "Actress" unfortunately still has a lot of those unconscious connotations which has a lot to do with the word "actor" becoming a gender non-specific term. (e.g. you don''t hear about a doctress or a jeweleress....)

I was just trying to offer some perspective on the current entertainment celeb worshipping cult. Of course not all actors/'tresses are loosey-goosey. nor is being whory unique to entertainers.
My mom gave me the historical angle years ago when I was into drama classes and doing some extra work. I thought she'd fabricated the entire thing expressly for steering me away from it.
OTOH, there are a lot of desperate crazies in Hollywood... a known fact.
Also, the old studio/slave system(Mr. Mayer, Mr. Warner et al) was notoriously sleazy and exploitative in many cases.
So I was thinking that their possibly phony 'thumbs up' on the Ziamond product adds to the "anything for a treat or publicity." reputation.
To be fair, I've never seen a Ziamond in person, so for all I know they could be gorgeous. shrug.
