I just drove almost 2 hours to Williamsport, PA, to approve of a setting. And having done so, I left my diamond to be reset. The shop is Petros. The style is "circa 1900 Italian." It's a platform ring, made to sit flush against a band. I can't wait to get it back! (Feb 5?) Here are pics of the model (holding a .70 rb). I put one in to show how it's platformed up off the shank, but my wedding band is behind it, so you have to look closely...

I love it! It's going to look amazing! Can't wait to see your photos!

can't wait to see your pics!!

Beautiful, so ornate

That is beautiful! It reminds me of James Meyer but with a little more detail!

Reminds me of JM too...very pretty!

Yes, I think James Meyer started this whole look in Williamsport and now it's all over that town. (And he's moved down south, I think.) I saw almost the same ring in another shop there.

Here's another pic of the one I'm getting (from their site). I just can't wait to get it

beautiful....love that it will sit up off your wedding band!

Beautiful! And it looks so rich in yellow gold!

Here it is - the real thing! Dh gave it to me at Outback on Friday night  He was also very pleased with it. Now I'm trying to decide whether or not to have my 4mm wedding band made slimmer, 3mm, to match the shank of this new e-ring. For now, I'm wearing it with a 2mm band I had. I'd really appreciate any input!

A few more. I am so happy that Petros Jewelers (Williamsport, PA) recently designed this ring! :appl: I've waited six years for it.

Ugh, I just noticed my rough fingers. Looks like I work on a farm, but I don't. I even wear gloves to do dishes. It's just winter dryness.

oh, it's beautiful! I like it paired with the 4mm band, I wouldn't change a thing. Congratulations, and enjoy!

AWESOME! Structurally very similar to what I originally envisioned: sort of like a "bridge" over the shank.

I really love the design. It's so beautiful!

HI:

Swaaaeeet!

cheers--Sharon

It's gorgeous! I like it with the thin band - it shows off the 'curliques' the most that way, IMO.

it's perfect!

I love it, it's beautiful!!! I think I like it with a slightly thinner band - actually, I think 3mm would look good, right in between the 2 band sizes you posted. Enjoy your new ring, it's stunning! :appl:

Thanks for the snaps everyone. I think it's all the things you said. And I probably will go with 3mm, as that's what my gut's telling me. And, I almost forgot, DH had "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE" inscribed inside of it  This is what he put in my first e-ring in 2003, after watching me rock our youngest to sleep singing that. He always says I brighten the house up. What a sweetie.

Aw, that really is very sweet!!! Your dh adores you and lets you know it, that's really nice!

I think it's beautiful! Love the graceful curves! I like the idea of the thinner band to pair with it.

GORGEOUS!! I prefer the thicker band with it, myself, but it only matters what YOU love!

It's gorgeous Cookie - very JM-ey! And I think it looks fantastic with the 4mm band next to it - I wouldn't change a thing!! :appl:

What a sweet DH

Its perfect! What a beautiful ring!! I like it with the 2mm band. I actually like it both ways, so your fortunate that you can switch it up. Congrats. I'm happy the wait is over for you!

I love your new ring....one of my most favorites!!!

Finally getting a chance to put on one pic of my newly fashioned 3mm band with the bezel ring. I really like it, and I wouldn't have it any thinner. The shanks are the same thinness, perfect. I tried to upload other pics, but the system is being bratty.

I have to say, wearing a bezel is really nice. I've noticed other women and their pokey prongs, which I wore for years, and I don't miss it! And my daughter just had a baby a week ago, and I'm staying with her and her husband to help out. I'm sooooo glad I don't have to worry about poking my dear little grandson with my old prong ring.

I love your new set. Very unique and a perfect match together.

This set is absolutely beautiful, Cookie tyme! I love the richness of the yellow gold!

It's so beautiful!! I think the 3mm gold band is absolutely perfect with it. The 4mm looked too thick too me and the 2mm too thin (although it's all a matter of personal preference). It's so ornate and rich, and your stone looks beautiful in the bezel!
