New diamond purchase! 0.9ct K VS1 w/ 1.9 HCA FIC

I just made a diamond purchase and I'm really excited to get it! I have a Whiteflash ACA that is about the same size, color and clarity (0.89 J VS1). I'm very curious to see how they compare. I am not expecting this to be H&A nor super-ideal. I would expect the ACA to have more white light return and overall brilliance. I would expect this stone to have more rainbow dispersion and more dark/light contrast. Does anyone have a stone with these proportions or shape that they could share to tease me while I wait? Or please feel free to give feedback or critique

I have been trying to be more financially responsible, since I had to pay for an unexpected back surgery last year and an unexpected throat surgery this year... but I couldn't resist the purchase! I hope it looks good in person!

@lovedogs post about weird diamonds is what led me to look for a deep, puffy-crowned stone

looks like the clarity grade is based on clouds not shown.
Being a vs1 its likely ok but check it.

Follow up on my earlier comment depending on whats in the gia gross rounding it could rangle from slightly contrasty to over contrasty in a ring.

Yeah I was curious about the clouds not shown. I hope that doesn't translate to an overall clarity issue. I see what you mean - what would overly contrasty look like? Would that mean it would often appear dark?

Just noticed the 55% stars that is kinda nutz with this combo, they should be 45%.
Pay attention to edge to edge brightness in real world viewing.

Yeah, I'm excited! I've never had an RBC with chubby arrows! I recently bought an OEC laser garnet (made a post in the lab gems section) and I love the puffy nature of it! So between that and your post I got impulsive

This is one of those stones that really defy remote details assessment.

I'll be honest - I don't actually know how that will affect the optics in person. I'll definitely post some pictures and videos and compare in different lighting

THat's exactly how I feel! I feel like it's going to be one where I won't know until I see in person. I have a feeling it's either going to be really dispersive and nice, or just a total dud. I don't see much room for in between

Well, I received the diamond and unfortunately it's a bit of a letdown. It isn't awful - the symmetry is really nice and it's got nice patterning. The outside of the crown is very fiery - but the center of the stone just doesn't have much light return and it leaves the stone looking mostly lifeless. I'll be returning it, unfortunately.

I must say that I'm impressed with James Allen's shipping and packaging
