And the beat goes on, I guess. I haven't posted in months...but I've been lurking and reading and learning, learning, learning!

So, my CvB Casablanca setting sold and here is that diamond that was masterfully & specifically chosen for the Casablanca two-tone setting. I'm not a huge jewelry wearer and I don't like to have stuff sitting around when someone else could love it, use it, wear it, own it! Also, I'm hoping to sell some stuff for a (potential) new project and I want this diamond to find its forever home.

Lovely 2.43 OEC, GIA Cert, Q/R, VS1, 8.44 x 8.32 x 5.45. Beautiful color, clear as can be, glorious spread, faces up white

Erica at LAD is awesome. She and I decided to give the diamond some new exposure here on Price Scope. I put my trust in Erica; the selling price is flexible, as BYBO:

Also PLEASE CHECK OUT my eternity bands. Husband says, "No more jewelry 'til you get some cash!" :roll
FIRE SALE! Bring your best offer to Erica! Thanks everyone!!!

That's a HUGE diamond for the price. I'd put it in rose gold!

*Drool* :lickout:

Gawd I love this stone. I wish I had diamond money in the budget for this year

Put a "contact" post on Loupetroop if you don't mind. I'd like to chat re this diamond.

Must.back.away. :eek2:

Oh my my! That’s a stunner!!!

Here’s to a quick sale!

Oh wow...so encouraging! Thanks everyone. Yes, I hope this diamond finds a happy new home. And yes, a rose gold setting would be great...gotta say it looked phenomenal in the CvB platinum and yellow gold Casablanca setting. Just enough yellow gold and platinum antiquing to make it all work.

Not sure how to do anything with Loupe Troop but I'll give it a try!

I'm a little sad that it got separated from the Casablanca setting. It just looked so perfect and at home there. If I had the budget for a large blingy ring this would be the one I would choose. 8)

PRICE REDUCED!
Now selling for under $8800.
All offers will be considered!

Just not feelin' it today! Hoping to quickly sell items, so I can just move on to a new project. This is really a gorgeous diamond. It just needs to find the right owner & the right setting!

I tried to get the hubs on board, but he said not now. I really hope you’re able to find her a new and loving home and soon!

@ohsomethingshiny...gosh you are so sweet! Thank you for taking the time to post! For various reasons, I just want to sell and move on, hopefully to a new project.

I am extremely embarrassed to state how much DH & I have SUNK into diamonds, preloved settings & a custom setting...and we have zero to show. It's alright...I'm in no hurry to have/own something I can wear. However, I think my husband would "feel" a lot better if I had SOMETHING on my finger, given all the money we have tied up in bling right now. It's crazy. It kinda got out-of-hand, so I completely understand your hubs. Thank you. The diamond is beautiful IRL!

This is such a great deal for a beautiful diamond. I envy whoever ends up with this beauty. Dust for a quick sale.

I wanted to show how my O color diamond looks with a yellow gold bezel and platinum halo. It helps visualize how the yellow gold will change the color of the stone and this could be done with yours. I am not as sure about putting rose gold with a yellow tone stone and went with yellow gold as Caysie thought it would be best.

@tlfiore Any ideas for your next project?

I love this stone. Please can I win the lottery?

Hope it goes to a PSer!

Hi everyone...thank you for all the kindness and good wishes regarding my fire sales and my "new" project.

@StepCutLover More details about a new project to follow!

@diamondseeker2006 THANK YOU for taking the time to post your photo, which I think helps so much! And your rings, that Casablanca...absolutely gorgeous! For anyone loving MUCH of Caysie's work especially that Casablanca, my oh my...the Casa cries for a stone with some color/tint. By and far, the Casablanca will always be amongst my 5 all time favorite settings.

So, I JUST realized I can access photos archived on PS...look at what I found for a different thread:

Casablanca.1.jpg

So LOOK at this! Here is the Casablanca with the 2.43 OEC in place (along with my beloved 1.60 ctw Platinum & Diamond 3/4 Eternity Band). Now, this is a diamond with Q/R color??? It is gorgeous!

And FWIW...the 3/4 EB has 11 x 15 pointers @ E/F/G, VVS! Look at that OEC! So precious!

I never wore these two rings together...they never worked...too much bling for me, which is something I didn't know prior to purchasing the CvB Casa (pre-loved) and the 2.43 OEC (that is, how size sensitive and self conscious I'd feel wearing so much diamond). It's just not me.

I just posted about my same feelings about larger stones in the Casa for me and being happier with it with a smaller stone in your other thread. Love your band! It definitely is large enough to be a stand-alone ring!

PRICE REDUCED...again! Trying to move this at $7980.00!

Bored, so I thought I'd reduce the price of this stuff once again! Everything I'm selling is listed on Diamond Bistro, Loupe Troop. Currently on consignment with Erica @ Love Affair Diamonds! Don't think I can go much lower than this on this item!! Thanks for looking everyone! This diamond will not disappoint!

I tried! But hubby asked me not to spend the money, then our roof sprang a leak, and now I am on a self-imposed indefinite grounding. But I would have snatched this up in a heartbeat if my pear had sold. I know that doesn't help, but I just wanted you to know that there has been interest. :kiss2:

Yeah. It’s a bit out of my budget so I hope someone else gets it so I can live vicariously. :)

Sigh- love it. If my diamond sells first thing I will do is buy yours. Unfortunately my diamond is probably in for the long haul because it’s for a high budget. Little bare fingers crossed though.

It's okay...thank you for the encouragement, which does help a whole lot. As an aside, I'm trying really hard to re-coup some money on this jewelry/diamond stuff 'cause my dear husband bought all of it and we, too have had some horrendous home repairs (like a new roof, which was required).

But it's all good. Just don't know how much lower I can go on the prices :(2

Thank you! I wish you a quick sale on your pear, which is beautiful!

Thank you everyone! Just going through one of those spells, you know? Not really feeling it. Sometimes I get like this with the summer's end (tho' winter is my favorite season) and the impending holidays. Such First World Problems, right? Life is good for us here, when you stop to think about it.

Several people have show interest in this 2.43 OEC but the offers Erica and I received have been soooo low. I wish I could say "yes" to $5000 but it would be so unfair to my husband to do so. That would equal OVER a 50% loss for us (I posted some inaccurate erroneous figure in the past regarding what we initially paid for the diamond...my memory is not good due to chemotherapy in the past...that and old age-lolol...and not paying' attention).

And I hate throwing figures around. But as most of you know who have "followed" my journey, the money we've put out on stuff is a LOT for us...so, I'd like to see DH get some of his money back...not just 50%

Thanks again everyone! It's all good!

Yeah unfortunately unless you’re buying really collector item diamonds (large and low color or super fancy grade color) or rarely available colored stones it’s hard to recoup costs since most people expect 20-30% off if buying preloved. I’ve sold a lot of things over the years as I’ve figured out what I like through various projects and I find usually that’s the price difference. I never plan a project with the intention of selling later at a loss, but sometimes I think of it as renting something really beautiful and having a lot of fun hunting and making a creative vision come to life, which makes me feel better about it.

Sorry this diamond didn’t work out for you but hopefully the right one comes along!

@MakingTheGrade yes I hear you and thank you for taking the time to post. Well, I think you posted as I just replied to some posts above. I guess DH and I are at about 20% "loss" or so now. I cannot take a 50% loss. Something about that seems obscene.

I'm an old lady and I've been around the block. People here, especially on PS know EXACTLY what this diamond is worth. So some offers, while not insulting ('cause I couldn't care less...takes more than someone seeking a bargain here on PS to offend me...a lot more) are ridiculous.

So, people can go to Adam @OWD, or Grace @JBG, or Era Gems, or Park Fine Group, or eBay, or Etsy, or their local B&M or wherever and find a better deal! It's their choice. But I'm not a wholesaler and I'm not a retailer. Then I can always wait for someone like ME who saw the diamond, loved it and purchased it.

It's all good. First World Problems.

Haha. Yes. When I find myself moping over something sparkly being over my budget I definitely remind myself it’s s super first world problem.

:D @MakingTheGrade ...yes, indeed! And yeah...when you put things into perspective, it seems silly lamenting some stuff. We all here on PS, for the most part, are super fortunate!

Thanks again for posting!

I just don’t think it’s nice to lowball someone... like you said, most here know the prices of things. Offering 50% less IMO is a waste of time unless someone indicated they were willing to take that loss, which I don’t believe you have said.

@whitewave Thank you, my friend for replying! Yeah...I hear you! I think @MakingTheGrade is trying to say "expect a loss...a big loss...her experience has been 20-30% when she has re-sold," which IMHO, DOES seem high.

EDITED TO CORRECT: @MakingTheGrade said "20-30% loss", not 50%. I think upwards of a 50% loss on a diamond re-sale is extremely high, IMHO.

I GET IT and anticipate a huge loss when attempting to resell custom settings, I really do 'cause they are so...well, customized. What one person values, another surely will not. So, HUGE LOSS expected. And I do get it when reselling the more customary or readily available stuff, I do.

Then the VC, LM and other stuff usually gets snapped up at/near the asking price 'cause it's so coveted and gorgeous, right? Look at the way Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, etc jewelry holds value! This "high-end" stuff gets snapped up especially here on PS, LT, DB, etc because certain designers are so adored and revered, so they have developed a following, if you will. Yet there are literally thousands of "niche" or "boutique" jewelry designers around the world who do lovely work with good production, if you do a simple Google Search, so...just sayin'

But yes @whitewave you are correct. Diamonds used to be considered a commodity...but not so now. And yet certain diamonds DO still hold a rather specific value. That's it! Yes, we all know what the "going rate" (so to speak) is for a diamond like my OEC

I spoke to the owner of a B&M in Toledo Ohio the other day about a setting, new settings, custom settings, old diamonds, new diamonds, estate jewelry, blah, blah. I cringed when he told me "he just has his people re-cut OECs the size of my 2.43, or my 1.91 into MRBs 'cause there's a limited market for the Old Cuts and many of them are chipped, cracked, ugly & useless."

I said "that's blasphemous!" STOP...please, I said-lolol! But I love adore love old mine cuts, old Asschers, Old Europeans, OLD CUSHION CUTS, blah, blah.

It's just a matter of the right person coming along, someone who (for whatever reasons) really wants the diamond. There HAS been a few higher offers in the past, which I declined. It's all good!

Thanks @whitewave
