Say, how does one buy a Dan Stair stone? Do you need to call him first thing in the morning the night after they are posted? I guess so.

Depends on what kind of stone you want. He's really good about email, and as soon as I see rough that he's cutting on his page that I'm interested in, I email him immediately. Luckily I refresh his page a lot so I get there pretty fast normally, but if you see something you like, you HAVE to jump on it immediately, because there is always someone waiting in the wings for that same stone.

The first email he gets about a stone is the one who gets first choice. I've actually ended up turning down some...

ETA: to buy, just email him what you want, he'll write you back if it's not sold and give you his paypal info. And you proceed from there.

I usually email him asking what he''s doing with it. If it''s posted, he''s probably already cutting it. If you''re looking for something specific, he''s open to trying to find something that will meet your specifications--he''ll do his best to find it, and execute what you want.
