Well, I went with the J-color because it gave me the value I needed to up to a 1.50ct. I was also inspired to buy this diamond because of its XXX-cut and VS1 clarity grading. The diamond is stunning in person and currently we have just sent it back to Blue-Nile to have it resized. Handshots will come in a week or two while we wait for the ring.

Please, comments/criticisms!!! Tell me what you think. Did I do good?

Thanks! I asked her on 4/12/2011... I gave her the ring and it was a little too larger (she is size 6, I got size 7.5), so instead of adding beads or a guard, we decided to wait it out and get it re-sized perfectly at BN.

It truly shines in person and most especially when outside. Here is another photo!

Yes I know!! I "borrowed" some of her other rings but didn't think to realize that maybe those rings weren't meant for the left hand, ring finger... haha!

The highest ct. weight for this setting was 1.50ct so I maxed it out!!

Thanks everyone! I got an e-mail from Blue Nile saying that they shipped the ring this evening (4pm PST) and I should be getting it on Monday because of no Saturday delivery. I shipped the ring on 4/12/2011 and they got it on 4/13/2011 (I shipped it overnight.) I requested that they try their best to get it out ASAP... and after 3 days, they were done re-sizing and I'm getting it on Monday! I can't wait... my FF's hand pics will be up shortly!

I'm a little concerned about the HCA grading though. Here are my grades:

your diamond has GIA Ex cut, not ideal. BN labels 'ideal' based on table/depth percentages only. Anyway, it looks fine on HCA and if you have seen it in person and loved it then it sounds like a very nice diamond!

Funny about the sizing...my first e-ring was bought as a size 8 when I was a 5 3/4 at the time. He just assumed that ring size is the same as shoe size

I actually went into her jewelry box and "stole" some of her rings and sized them myself using tools I found online... funny thing is she never wore those rings on her ring finger! They were mostly for her right hand, middle finger, etc.!! So I sized them as a 7.5 and when we got our E-ring it was too loose.. needless to say the wait and anticipation is killing us! (Will come tomorrow)
