I''ve been lurking around this board the last months, always meaning to register, and finally today, I did! You ladies are always so supportive and kind to one another, and it is so great to be part of a board with strong, intelligent, sensible and romantic ladies such as you all are! (so nice to know these adjectives are NOT mutually exclusive!) You''ve been such a comfort!

Anyway, a quick note about me.... I am an American living and working in Europe, and my FF is European.... we met here shortly after my bold move across the pond. Why, for me, did it take moving halfway around the world to a country where I knew no one and didnt speak the language for me to meet Mr. Right? In meeting him, I knew immediately he was the ONE, and here were are a year and a half later discussing marriage. How is the saying? "If I am dreaming, I dont want to wake up."
Long story short, add me to the list ladies!!! Its a pleasure to share such an exciting time in such good company.

Welcome, any chance of receiving a proposal in the near future or just in the "preliminary discussions" phase? Either way, this is a great place to be understood by women who are waiting for that special time to come!

I think many of us are well rounded individuals that have lives outside of just *wanting* a proposal soon, but this is the place where we can secretly vent and share our stories without annoying our personal friends

!

Anyways, if you haven''t already, feel free to ask DMBsgirl to add you to our LIW list...it''s quite long now, but I have a feeling by the end of 2007 there is going to be some serious numbers dropping off (with hopefully me included!)

Thanks for the welcome Shannon! Well, We talked about "engaging" (is that the verb?? hahah) in the Spring, and we are looking at rings currently. This part is very sweet actually because the american engagement ring doesnt exist in his culture, but he wants to give me a "little something special." We''ve been looking at antique pieces.... I like very unconvenional things and so does he, so its a fun process. I think we''ve found something we both like, so now its up to him!!

I know what you mean about trying not to make your friends crazy....I dare not say a peep... dont want to jinx anything.... But I HATE

waiting.... the suspense is death! I am so excited, and i know he is too.... but he is romantic natured so I know he will plan to the last detail....so I happy wait

Hope that your proposal comes soon! Also one thing-I''m Irish and I went to the US to get my e-ring as the price difference between the EU and the US is crazy. Not sure if you''re planning a trip home in the near future but it might be something to consider.

Bee! I think we will get the ring from the USA.... the prices are so much better!!! Because it will be more a pretty trinket to commorate the "occasion" of engagement, as opposed to a traditional engagement ring, as he is doing it to honor the american custom for my benefit, we are keeping the budget way low. we are pretty open to look everywhere. I like antique and vintage sparklies! At the end of the day, I am sure something fabulous will appear on that great day, and it will undoubtedly come from the states- and it will definitely mean the world to me. Ah.... patience......sigh
