Okie dokie everyone, we are adopting this cutie next week to be our little mouse hunter for the barn (and b/c I want a kitteh LOL), but I need name ideas. Some that I came up with were Jenkins, Jinks, Bynx, and Salem, but any other ideas? He's a little boy, neutered, loves to be a cuddlebug, but you can TELL he's a little mischiveous too.

Clawed Monet!

CUTE! I like the name, Salem.

I would call him Derek Zoolander. He has that blue steel look going on.

oops... double post

Ooh I like zoolander haha - Lander for short :)

Or you could just name him Hunter ;)

Aww! He is adorable-- I think that Salem fits him perfectly.

I have no idea why, but the first name that came to mind is Milo. I also like Salem. He's really cute!

Just in time for Caturday! I like Jenkins. He looks so squeeshable!

this kitten is way too young and way too cute to be relegated to the barn as a mouser. he is a deserving lap kitty and as such should be regally named....PRINCE OF DARKNESS...Prince for short. he is absolutely gorgeous!

Ditto to the first part! I love Salem - reminds me of the awesome black talking cat from the Sabrina the Teenage Witch series :P

HEEEEEEEEEEEEE I promise he won't be in the barn YET hehe.

Keep the name ideas rolling, nothing is sticking yet. I may have to get him home and spend more time with him... hmmm

Glitch.

Binky and Stitch were the first names that came to mind when I saw him, he's divine!!

Mum saw his pic and suggested Fergus  Or Splash, for the paint splotch on his nose :twirl:

He's precious! Since you titled your thread "itteh bitteh kitteh," though, I have to say my very first inclination was to name him Ezio, after Ezio Pinza, the famous opera singer. Does he meow yet? Do you think he will? Well, whether he does or doesn't, my vote is for "Ezio!" I love him!

Soooo cute! He's absolutely gorgeous.

The first name that sprang to mind when I saw his photo was Alexei, but after reading what you said about him being a mouse hunter in the barn I immediately thought "Topolino" which is Italian for little mouse. Its also what the Italians call Mickey Mouse, so maybe Mickey is an option as well?

Thritto to the first part. I've never heard of adopting a kitten to be a barn cat. And, I've never heard of adopting a kitten, raising him inside and then expecting him to be a barn cat. But, to each his own, I guess. :(sad

He's so cute! He kind of looks like a Jude to me. Love all of the suggestions so far!

To clarify - Kitteh will spend his first couple of days in the house, and will move to our barn office/tack room. He'll be going outside daily with me under supervision until he's large enough to go in and out as he pleases. We'll basically have an in and out for him in the barn room so that he can go in and out. He'll also have run of a large outdoor shed and another two stall empty barn. I've had several barn cats that were raised in barn and they love it!! The horses like to nuzzle them too.

I'm loving the name suggestions!! The Italian name for Mickey is awesome, esp considering my life goal is to get to Italy....

What a sweetie! I also like the name Salem... Reminds me of Hocus Pocus, which is one of my all time favorite Halloween movies!

He's adorable! He also does look a little mischiveous. . .but then what cat isn't? hehehe Enjoy your little guy.

Bynx is cute. I do like the name Salem. . .but it also reminds me of cigarettes. lol

Here's a few I thought of when looking at the little guy:
Nestle
Inky
Tarot (with silent t)

Have fun naming him. He's sooo cute!

I know. This seems sad to me, that he will only be a barn cat. He's precious!

Well the kitten was named. Yesterday when he came to us the movie Point Break happened to be on, and I noticed it at the point where she tells "Johnny" who "bodee" is. We now have a little bodee in the house. He LOVES the horses, I let them sniff him while I held him and he rubbed all over their noses. He is staying in the house for now, and also has a pen on our porch for when we are outside, he can come hang out with us. He watched me grill last night. He is eating great, drinking great, and seems to be adjusting well. Our dogs all really like him and the three girls "protect" him from the boys hahahaha it's so funny. Please know that he is not "just" a barn kitty to us. He'll be a member of our family like any other pet. We've raised many happy and social barn cats who love people and love to be held and played with. He'll be brought inside any time the weather is inclement as well, even if he does have a room in the barn, I don't like them outside in bad weather. He has toys and I got him a stuffed animal to sleep with at night too. Barn cats have a very useful presence in keeping other animals out of our feed rooms where they destroy bags of feed, horse blankets, saddle pads, and even saddles. He will of course get the best diet, and all of my animals see a vet regularly and get checked for ANYTHING that may be bothering them. I don't want you guys to think I'm going to throw the little guy to the elements or anything like that.

Heck, the gopher tortoise that lives in our yard gets better treatment than most pets lol. We are animal softies who love to take care of them and have them around.

Aw! What a little cutie!!! I'm sure he'll have a blast with the horses in his new romping grounds!

Many congrats on your new kitteh. Our kitteh says meow and will see him on the interwebs ;))

Heee - my sister let me know that he took a nap on her shoulder this afternoon :praise: She's supposedly "allergic" to cats... apparently not kittens though.

I wanna squish him, and smoosh him, and...

Congrats! And I think he looks like a Binks too
