Wow, I feel like I know all of you because I''ve been lurking around here for quite some time. I have learned a great deal about diamonds/terminology/diamond purchasing. Anyway, I wanted to share and seek support, as I know all LIW sometimes need. My BF and I will be celebrating 7 years together this summer. He is just the sweetest guy. We have talked about marriage alot and some of those talks have been not that nice. I''m impatient I guess...but I''m getting better at just relaxing and waiting, ( I guess I have no other choice). I do know he loves me and wants to spend his life with me, so there is comfort in knowing that. When we first started talking about marriage, he would always say "soon". Why is guy soon so different from girl soon? Anyway, I have picked out a few settings i LOVE from a wonderful local jeweler, (the same place he got my earrings and bracelet). I fell in love with halos as a result of PS! So I''m hoping for a cushion cut halo. I can''t decide between a prong or a bezel set. I don''t like the center stone to be set too high. I''m fearful of snagging everything. I also just don''t prefer the look. But on the other hand with some bezel sets i''ve seen, the center stone seems to not really be the focus. Well, I am really excited because my BF has said that we will be engaged before the end of this year. For some reason, I picture him waiting until Dec. 31 at 11:59pm to propose, putting it off until the very last second, but I really hope he decides to do it earlier. Know anyone who got a proposal much earlier than the original deadline? I have been doing a great job of not really mentioning getting engaged since I''ve received this timeline. Should I continue to not really mention it? I''m just talking out loud here...lol.

I have admired many many rings on this site. Probably Fatguy''s cushion halo the most! Look forward to communicating with you ladies in the future as we all wait together!

And to give you a bit of hope, my procrastinator fiance said that we would be engaged by the summer and he did it April 10! So there IS hope that your BF will up the date as well.

Welcome!! I know how you feel!! Its so hard not to mention it when you''re excited about it!! Hopefully he''ll do it sooner than you think.

I think not mentioning it helps, because guys usually don''t want you to think they did it because you pressured them. Easier said than done, I tell myself plenty of times that I will stop mentioning it but it is so hard to not talk about something you want so bad. If only I could take my own advice!
