I picked up my completed Mahenge spinel set in a 14k white gold and diamond Lord of Gem Rings ring mount from my jeweler yesterday. As I mentioned in yesterday's thread about my new amethyst ring Link The cutter is Gene Flanigan from Precision Gem. I got the spinel for a bargain price because of the rather visible black inclusion. Fortunately, when set, the inclusion is largely covered.

Here is a shot of the loose stone. Yes, that is the black inclusion at the upper left.

This is one of my better shots colorwise. In many of the indoor photos to follow, the diamonds look yellow because there is some incandescent light in the room.

Gosh, this is a pretty stone.

The color is sort of raspberry.

What do we have outside? Lots of snow!!

No leaves or flowers out here right now.

Finally, I tried to capture some of the glow-in-the-dark effect in this shot. This is just an awesome stone. Thanks for looking.

The raspberry photos are delicious!! Beautiful ring!!

ETA: Did you upgrade the diamonds on the LOGR? They're lovely.

Beautiful stone!! I just love the color.

I had no idea LOGR has such a different looking mount. Your Mahenge stands out proving that colour, and not size, is what matters.
Green and purple is a very unusual combo, lovely but I'm afraid it's overshadowed by the spinel.

Thank you, TL. Of course, I bow down to the queen of LOGR rings.

No diamond upgrades. I was just trying to get this stone set sooner, rather than later. LOGR says they are H SI1. I have to admit that I haven''t looked too closely at them. I''m glad that you approve.

Thank you, Catmom. Red is my favorite color, but in this case, I''m willing to go a bit to the pink side.

It is an awesome color.

Thank you, Chrono! Sort of whetting your appetite for your own Mahenge ring, I''m sure.

It is going to be sooooo amazing.

Actually, LaurenThePartier is the Queen of LOGR (to me anyways!!).

They look like full cut diamonds. I think you lucked out on not getting a diamond upgrade. The stone is melting the snow in your latest pictures!!

I love the rasberries photos, delicious!!

It''s gorgeous and your shots are so cute.

I got out the loupe and they look like full cut stones to me. I didn''t see any inclusions, but I would need a microscope to spot much in a tiny SI stone. I''m not that good with just 10x.

The stone does look burning hot, doesn''t it?
1.gif
But, trust me, there was no melting of snow going on here today. Brrrrr.

Thank you, MTG. Yes, I love Gene''s cutting. I tend to not let his stones sit around unset for very long.
